2 pounds a week for 15 weeks...

Sounds pretty easy right?? I'm hoping that being involved here might make it a bit easier!
My starting weight is 14st 9 (205 pounds) and I have a target weight of 12st 7 (175 pounds) which is a total weight loss of 2st 2 (30 pounds) I'm taking this from 1st Feb until 17th May which gives me 15 weeks.

On the 22nd May I'm running my first marathon, so I really have to get my backside in gear!! I shall give regular updates with my thoughts, failures, and achievements along the way!! Nice to be here, cheers, Leo

2 lbs per week is a nice and steady pace. Cut out all the junk foods, eat in moderation and exercise and you can do it!

It's doable :) I've just reached my 15th week and have dropped 40lbs (though my start weight was 100lbs over yours!). Keeping a diary here will be a big help in keeping yourself accountable, and also gaining a little help and motivation through responses! Try to introduce long last, permanent changes into your diet, and look for more places in your daily routine where you can add extra exercise, walking whenever possible, taking the stairs instead of an elevator and so on and so forth, it really does all add up.

Awesome work!! You can do it! Like the others have said- that's great slow and steady pace to lose the weight!

Let us know how you're doing regularly! I'm like you, I would like to lose about 30lbs by the end of april!! :)

Thanks for your replies people, fab advice much appreciated!!..I already have a pretty healthy diet, I have just ruled out all the junk, and started eating lots of steamed veg to keep me full up. Since Tuesday, I've been to the gym every day, and plan on going 6 days a week for the next month to give myself a real blast, then I can start doing some road running in preparation for my marathon..well motivated at the moment!!
 
Wow! Congrats! you sound like you have a great plan for accomplishing your goals!!
