Hello everyone. My name is Mike, I'm 5'11, and around 250 pounds. I havent actually weighed myself in a while... not a good thing eh, going to get a new scale soon.
Anyways, I've finally realized that "diets" dont work... at least not for most people. When I say diets I mean where you put your foot down and say "Okay, I'm going to become skinny, from this second on I'm going to eat one carrot a day and run 20 miles everyday." Over exaggerated yes, but its the idea that you can just change your lifestyle in a day and just accept it.
Thats the actual key... your "lifestyle." You have to change it, but gradually. I not going on a diet, I'm not counting calories, I'm slowly making small changes to my daily routine that will more than likely lead to me losing weight, even if slowly.
The hardest change for me has also been getting off the couch and excerising on a regular basis... but I cheated for this one now, and this right here is my biggest motivator to make more changes. I recently got a summer job in a warehouse... for me at least... perpetual sweat... always sweating, I cant work with out a head band. A lot of the time I'm actually using a pallet truck to unload trailers, but even this requires some body movement, and then I'm always getting of to do lifting and organizing. I do a lot of medium to heavy lifting. Its funny, I drink sooo much water yet I rarely pee at all during my 8 hour shift.
So here are the questions.
I work 4 days a week, 8 hour shifts. At work I maintain an elevated heartrate and sweat alot... alot. Does this count as cardio? Am I burning fat? Or since my heartrate isnt peaking am I not burning as much fat? I am planning on maybe going to the gym once a week or running once a week... but again... little changes.
Also, just for kicks and giggles, can you tell me how I did eating wise today.
Breakfast: Honey bunchs of oats with milk (cereal), orange juice
Lunch: 6 inch Subway sandwich, diet coke
Dinner: " ", orange soda
Snack: Dried Apricots
Not doing a Jared diet here... perse... Does it work?
Anyways, forgive me for being wordy, hopefully I paragraphed it well to get some good and insightful responses
