I weigh about 183.5 pounds atm and im looking to get to about 145 i do have a broad general build but i would like to get skinnier and then work on building the muscles or work on building it while exercising. Im als 5 foot 6 inches. Im mostly looking for some recomendations on what to do and what to eat. I always make sure to have breakfast and it is always the same thing it is probably the only thing i cant change im able to change anything else my breakfast is a bacon egg and cheese biscuit. so any recomendations on weight loss and diets would be helpful i mean as in what to eat not as in diet fads. I have plenty of free time but im looking for a workout to do for maybe 30 minutes to an hour everyday. at aroun 5

Hello! I'm 18, and started coming here when I was 16 like you. We're close in body weight/goals, so I can understand where you are coming from.

Portion control is a great way to start, if you eat too much all the time, try to cut back, then, just exercise and get moving. Then, once you start with those small steps start adding more, choosing better meals, less fatty foods, more water, that kind of thing.

I also suggest heading over to the Weight Loss Diary section and starting a diary there. In your blog there you can rant, praise, tell, express yourself and get support from a lot of people who are going through the exact same thing that you are going through right now!

Welcome again and good luck!

Welcome!
I'm not 100% sure, but i've heard that lots of protein will help build muscles (and weightlifting.. heh). There's a thread on what to do if you want to lose weight, somewhere on this forum.
I personally like to count my calories. Lots of people don't like to do this cuz its too confusing or whatnot. Just look at the nutrition guide in the back of your food item, or search the web. Don't forget to keep the portion-size in check. After a few days you'll get the hang of it.
I try to eat 1500-1600 calories a day. I will eat a piece of chocolate or a cookie or something, but as long as my total calories for the day doesn't surpass 1500-1600, I'm cool.
I don't know if that helped. Good luck on your weight-loss/muscle building journey!
