In short, probably not. First off, doing situps will not help your abs. If doing situps help you get abs, then every fat guy you see will have amazing abs.

You need to do weights and cardio. As for running, it is only good if you are maintaining your heart rate.

So for exercise, you need the following:
1) Find your target/training heart rate.
2) For at least 3 days a week, and for at least 20-30 minutes, do cardio such as running while maintaining your target heart rate. Total time at gym or outside: 40 minutes.
3) For at least 3 days a week do weights. This includes bench, squats, deadlifts, and other weights. During your weight training days, do at least 20 minutes of cardio after your weight training. Total time at gym or outside: 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours.

Oh, I didn't read this. Congrats on wanting to live a healthy lifestyle. However, I personally think that as with any health problems, especially recovering anorexia patients, you should go see a professional for recovery efforts. The reason being is that losing weight is frustrating; I even get frustrated and I think I'm doing fairly well (or maybe doing not so well). At least in a group setting with professionals, you can get group support from similar people and you can feel better about yourself if you're having a bad day. If you don't want to go with the group setting, try telling your parents, friends, teachers, or someone about your daily progress so you can get going smoothly instead of falling back on old habits.

Good luck and come back often with your progress!

again.. what is your diet like. thats where it all starts. you need strength training and cardio also, but lets start in the kitchen...

but hmmm honestly I can't go to gym so can I dun lift weight and still lose some pound?

Well as Nae said, diet is important. I'm not really an expert there, but I have my own little program that seems to be good. If you can post your diet, it could tell if exercise will even work for you.

Doing exercise will really benefit nothing if your diet isn't correct. You could run 5 miles, and then if you go home and eat wrong, it could be for nothing.

So if you can post your diet. Perhaps what you ate yesterday and that would be helpful for the others who are experts in that area.

sry Nea28 I kinda dun really know what my diet is hmmm but I think mostly I eat lot of fruit and veggi little protien and very little carb...and very little except sometime when I start my old habit "binge" than my kcal is more than 2000...but lately I am eating ok but not really much

p.s. I kinda eat random so I dunno but mostly fruit and very little and no carb at all...

ok, well diet is going to be the key to success im sure. so, first you have to get a grasp on that. you can log everything you eat into an online journal such as
you sau you eat little protein.. increase it.
you say you dont eat much.. increase it.
(simplifying things here)
like i said, without knowing exactly what you are eating, no one can give you solid advise on what to correct. so, try logging it in and seeing how many cals you are eating and how many from protein, carbs, and fats.

congrats on trying to make this lifestyle change and i know it can be hard at only 15.. living at home.. parents probably do the cooking and you eat it lol.. but really, nutrition is your friend. start there.

Eating a lot of fruit can be just as bad as eating a lot of candy because some fruit has a lot of surgar.

This is the reason why I think you should go see a doctor about your problem. Just eating a lot of fruit and veggie is good, but it isn't hardly enough for your day. Can you give more details on what exactly you ate? Did you eat anythign high in protein such as chicken or eggs?

Try giving what you ate in this format:

Breakfast:
Blah @ blah cals

Snack 1:
Blah @ blah cals

Lunch:
Blah @ blah cals

Snack 2:
Blah @ blah cals

Dinner:
Blah @blah cals
w/ blah

nea28 thank u for ure suggestion I'll try doing that...but I assume that i eat about 1500 per day I think...so if I exersie will I lose weight?:)

Actually posting it here is just fine. I think the fit day log has the same format as I described above. I personally track it in a journal that I bought at Barnes & Noble's health/diet section. It's called DietMinder by MemoryMinder and it has about 90 days worth of tracking before you have to buy another one. You probably could find a similar journal at your local bookstore if you wish to track what you eat and what your exercise is like during the day, and then you can post it here.

Also, remember that I said I'm no expert in diet. So if you ask me a diet question, I'll answer it the best I can, but others in the forum are better at that than I am because I pretty much suck at giving advice especially since I'm trying to lose weight too.

ok I'll post here thank u so much :)
