Hey guys. Here are few quick facts about me
I’m a twenty-something university student from GTA and looking to lose 145 pounds a year from today. Have a lot of insincere support around that weighs me down. Wishing to break away and live my life to its potential. Hopefully this forum will bring me support, motivation, and energy to finally DO IT!!!

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your journey. That is going to be a tall task to accomplish. You will need a good plan and a lot of determination. This will be a good place for support and post often.

How about a little more info height, weight and age? Are you going to be counting calories?

Welcome to the community!

Your goal is not unrealistic, it can be done. You are looking at an average weight loss of about 3 lbs per week. However, you should allow yourself a little flexibility. Our bodies are not machines and it is very easy to become discouraged if the scale does not cooperate with your plans. I have found setting small goals help much more than looking at the larger picture. Try focusing on 5 or 10 lbs at a time instead of the whole 140+.

There are a lot of stickies posted everywhere with some good reading on nutrition, exercise, and general weight loss information. You might want to start there. Also, try starting a journal and keeping track of your food intake and your daily activities. That can help put a lot of things in perspective.

Good luck and post often so we can get to know you.

Hi Annu,

Good luck. This is a great place to start. I am new too and have found a wealth of information and motivation to help me along. The food journal that about2lose it recommended was worked well for me. I am counting calories so it helps me keep track of how much I am eating everyday.
