Hello!!

I have recently piled on 10kg since moving to a new country, lots of eating out and drinking etc.

Can't afford to buy a whole new wardrobe of clothes so want to shift it quick!

Ive been trying to diet for about 3 months but at the end of the day lose my motivation and I'm still putting on weight.

I want to stick to 1200 calories a day and wondered if anyone wanted to join me so we can spur each other on?

I am 5ft 6 and weigh 71kgs, want to get down to 60kgs.

Don't have a specific diet in mind, just to rigidly stick to the calories. I like to eat lots of fruit/veg/chicken/fish etc but also have a weakness for chocolate/ice cream/biscuits etc. The usual really!!

Look forward to hearing from you!

I suspect that the reason you're having a hard time sticking to your diet is because you're not eating enough. 1200 calories isn't enough at your weight. You should be eating around 1500-1600 calories to lose weight. Those 300 calories can make a huge difference in feeling satisfied with the food you eat and being starving at the end of the day.

Kara is right. But if ur gonna do it it's easiest with chicken breast and broccoli.

Pop bout 10 fish oil caps and a multi and plan a refeed once a week and ur golden. Provided u can hang. Cuz it effing sucks.

From what I've read, 1200 calorie diets seem to be commonly prescribed to anyone, regardless of age/weight/gender. Instead of focusing on the number, I have just tried to focus on drinking my gallon of water throughout the day, combined with a balanced diet of protein/GOODcarbs/and healthy fats. Eat until you aren't hungry to keep a strong, stable metabolism, and the weight should come off naturally.

Good luck in your endeavours!

Thanks for your responses guys. Because of these and chatting to friends etc I have decided on 1500 cals a day. Probably much more sensible as I have also been for the past few weeks, running 10kms every day too. Though I know I should focus on healthy eating and not a calorie total, I am the type of person who really needs something rigid to stick too, some may say obsessive, so I have weighed myself this morning (71kgs) and will see how this plan works for this week and re-evaluate if necessary!
