1200 calorie diet

has anyone tried it? if so, is it any good?
sounds simple enough.. eat what you want as long as you don't go over 1200 calories.. my sister has just done it and lost over a stone in 6 weeks, but i'm keen to know if it's worked for anyone else or whether i'm setting up for failure again haha

In my opinion 1200 cals isn't enough unless you are a really small person, but even then.

I don't think this will work unless you plan to eat 1200 cals for the rest of your life. the minute you eat more, the weight will pick up.

And if you plan to excersise, you will need more than 1200 cals, or you will become very weak.
 
I eat about 1200 calories a day - some days I'll eat a little more.

I eat about 5 times a day and I do my cardio every day and I've been losing about 2.5-3 pounds a week. :) It works for me
 
It worked for me in the past too....but only short term...wasn't a diet I could do long term....I gained all my weight back too...so I wouldn't encourage it.
 
It all depends on how you define "works."

If by "it works" you mean the number on the scale drops... sure, it works.

If by "it works" you mean it will help you lose fat and maintain muscle, improve health, and help you feel satiated... then no, it doesn't work.
