1 Muscle Group a Day ok?

hey all,

i want to include a cardio exercise into my workout schedule, but i'm pressed for time. so i wanted to know if i could do one muscle group a day mixed with 30-40 min of cardio....example:

sunday: biceps & 30 min cardio
monday: chest & 30 min cardio
tuesday: triceps & 30 min cardio....

you get it yeah?

the question is...is the wait between muscle groups too long? meaning is 6 days too long of a waiting period to do biceps again?

i suppose i could do HIIT and my cardio that way....and i might do so later on, but i actually want to build up some endurance again. i just quit smoking so my lungs/heart could use the cardio

thanks for any help!!

thanks for the fast reply. i thought about supersets, but so far, i really like just one area a day, any idea if 6 days is too much time to wait in between

Try more compound types of exercises. Like Curls to Press, Push-Ups, bench-pressing, pull-ups/chin-ups, lunges... you can probably hit 2-3 muscle groups at the same time if you choose the right exercises.

Edit: And you should probably take one day completely off of everything.

I think waiting to work a muscle again for six days is kinda silly and your gains will be slower than if you worked each muscle group through multiple sessions through the week.

I agree evolution has a point but it depends on what your traning for i.e. size or to get cut? If you wanna get cut that is pretty good, in fact that is the schedule i'm on right now (about 50-70 min of cardio though) and it seems to be working pretty god for me.

could you not work 2 muscles one day and do a little bit of cardio, then miss weights the next day and do all cardio, then back to 2 different musle the third with a little cardio?

or at least double stuff up. like bis/tris and abs one day, then devote a full day to back if you like, a full day to legs (or at least quads and calves...and put hams 3 days later, with abs again).

really the only people who work a muscle group once a week like what you're talking about, are pro body builders who compete for a living, have been training for 10 years, and shoot roids with their post workout meal. It takes a long time of consistent lifting to get to the point where you need a 45 minute biceps workout just to reach hypertrophy.

seems pretty good my routine is kinda like that just that i usually work 2 or 3 muscles a day like:
Mon.: Forearms & Biceps
Tues.: Triceps&Deltoids
Wed:Chest,Back,Quads
and so on...
