1/2 kg punches.

Is it true that by doing like 4 sets of 60-80 punches while holding 1/2 kg for each arm that you increase your punching strength and build some mass at the same time?
 
that's essentialy like wearing some heavy gloves. It won't give you much, if any size.
If you want to get better at punching, join some MA class.. punching with weights in your hands is really just weird. I don't care what Rocky did.
 
A friends friends are boxers and he wants to get into it and was telling me they punch with weights for ages and when there not punching with weights every one of there punches is like king hits lol
 
I am Punching With 2kg Weight and going to increase it soon to 3..5..7..10 and then decreas it 10...7..5..3..2..

And No Punching with Weights won't build punching strenght and mass it will just build up your speed

Speed and Power is the Best!

I Would recomand you do 12 sets of 100
( This Just Give You Speed ) and for Power you should train your Forearms and Biceps

I'm not really sure if punching with weights will build up some mass. And I agree that in doing so will build up more speed, not necessarily power. Pushing up with clenched knuckles might do more than punching with weights if power and strength is concerned.
 
Tom, there is no need to chime in with comments like that, I've seen you doing it it other threads too. There's no point :p
