Placing my running before me

Hey everyone

im sure there are a lot of people on here asking for help with weight loss and ill be sure to help everyone i can too.
but i need some advice of my own

im almost 18 and i weigh 80.1kgs
im 175/176 cm tall
ive run seven 10km races and run 5km along my road on occasions
also i have gym membership too

given what i have and my attributes
i would like to lose fat so that im lighter to run races, and just for general health
my calves are a lot bigger than other boys calves my age, could these be reduced at any chance?
any help would be extremely appreciated
about how much i should run(daily or not)

That running (and other cardio workouts) is what's going to help you lose fat and become lighter, so keep it up. Around 2-3 days a week should be sufficient (you should leave a day in between intense runs). And if 5km is what feels intense for you, stay there for now. Raise the bar if you feel you need to/can.

And don't worry about your calves. They're big because they're powerful, so they'll help. There's nothing wrong with them being larger than others'.
 
If you're wanting to lose weight, I'd suggest adding a sprint routine into your running program. 2-3 times a week go for short distances, 100-400m and 4-8 repeats with 2-3 minutes of rest in between. This will decrease your body fat % and allow you to gain more lean muscle mass.
