Losing ten pounds in 5 months?!

Hi! I just signed up for this forum so forgive me if what I'm posting about doesn't exactly fit into this group! I'm going to Las Vegas for the first time in July (super excited) and over the past 6 months I put on about 10 pounds. And on top of that I wasn't exactly toned in the first place.

I'm 5'7 and I weigh 145-146ish pounds. I now have an awful gut, fat thighs and my behind as expanded as well as I now have upper arm and back fat. Blah. I cut out all the fatty food that contributed to my weight gain (I moved away for university and discovered how convenient fast food and pizza can be) but with school and work I never have enough time to hit up the gym. My energy level is horrifying. So my boyfriend is buying me a spinning bike (yay!) and I'm planning to start on that.

My question basically is can I lose the weight I want to and tone up with spinning? My plan without any insight from anyone who would actually know what would work best for me is to do as much spinning as I possibly can and once I lose some of the fat to start doing exercises like crunches and squats and I have little weights to do some arm exercises.

Is this possible by the end of July?? I'm 22 and have never worn a bikini before but in Vegas I would like to and not be worried about how I look! Thanks for the read guys, looking forward to your replies!

Sincerely
Megan

Ten pounds in 2 months is very easy to do, never mind 5 months. I wouldn't 'wait' to start doing resistance training. I would resistance train first, then jump onto the bike. It's good you gave up junk food. Just remember to also avoid sugar as much as possible, and eat as much real food as you can and avoid all the pre-packaged garbage like lean cuisines and all that crap. You need to resistance train to add some lean muscle. Then you will even burn more calories while at rest.

You can absolutely lose 10 lbs in five months.

First, aim to stay at about -500 calorie deficit from your BMR. You'll probably be hungry a lot but that's what it takes. Once you're pleased with how you look, go to about -200 or so and stay there permanently.

Second, try to eat healthy. Try to eat as many home-cooked meal as possible. Don't avoid fat, you need them in adequate amounts.

Fast food is fine so long as they're controlled and you maintain the -500 or -200 calorie deficit. Your body may not be getting the greatest nutrition in the world, but in terms of losing weight your body doesn't care so long as it's in a calorie deficit.

Third, tell your bf to not buy you the spinning bike and save the money =D Instead, go out running with him. Do intensive work-outs, mainly HiiT. Should be a great exercise with your bf.

Do body weight exercises for resistance training. You won't get needlessly bulky but get a great workout and build a good deal of strength. The four given body-weight work-outs are push-ups/pull-ups/planks/squats. The most important thing in doing body-weight training is to continually up the ante. Don't just stick to doing 20 push-ups a day, etc.

This website has some good programs for the above mentioned weight-trainings.

Be sure to learn to do them in perfect form before you go onto doing them for reps. Doing them without perfect training not only greatly increase the risk of muscle injury, but they also don't do a whole lot in actually promoting strength. Keep this in mind especially for squats, which can destroy your knees if you do them improperly.

Read Mark Sisson (or Barry Sears if Paleo is too much for you) and don't be afraid of lifting some weights. More info here

I know about this problem it is usually due to the overweight and this problem is serious, I was in same condition before six month and couldn't get rid from this because due to busyness can't do much exercise and due to which, skin haven't amuse the sweating but if your weight will overcome then you 'll overcome on your skin problems too, So , for this i did go for medicine from Prohcgdiet.com that showed really great results I 'll suggest you too :)
