Hello All!

Hello from Texas. I joined the forum because I have been working out with a trainer for 3 months now and just started up reformer and mat pilates. I run on my own at the park (I don't really prefer treadmills). I used to only be able to run about a mile without stopping - and was very winded. Now I can run about 6 miles only stopping to readjust or change songs once or twice (this is on a good day/week when I am not too tired from my other training sessions). I have seen results - I wear a size 2, and was previously a size 4 or 28 if we're talking jeans. My 28 jeans fall off of me, my 27 jeans some fit, some are also falling off. I want to keep toning and losing inches without hitting a plateau. I also should note that I had a very serious knee injury to my left knee when I was 12 (I am now 24) - and I have no cartilage in my left knee... so it does tend to hurt me even though I wear a brace. The exercising is a personal choice that the doctor said if I don't want my knee to hurt I shouldn't exercise, but I am afraid I would become fat and unhappy if I didn't continue working out. I was always pretty small until recently (last 3 months) that I really started a good regimen and so far I am very happy with the results and it's worth the knee pain.

I am about 5'6" and don't weigh myself often because scales make me depressed, but I go off of the way my clothes fit me. When in shape I am ideally a size 2. I still have curves and want to make sure that I can keep up the training without hitting a wall or getting burnt out. I also want to try new exercises, and hope the pilates works (although I don't feel that is has been as beneficial as my trainer). If anyone has any knee brace suggestions or exercises to build it up so that it doesn't hurt as bad that would be helpful. I also want abs (I've never had abs in my entire life haha).

Cheers!

Hi esenabel,

I like your thinking about the scales - I only care about the shape and the way my clothes fall on me. The number never scares me (except when my wife was pregnant!).

Looking forward to your fitness journey!
