Getting ready for a Military career!

Hello everyone. I'm new to this site (obviously) but not new to forums. In fact, forums likely contributed to my current weight problem (that and lots of games, junk food, and and other time wasting activities). Anyways, my name is Daniel, I live in GA and my current goal is to join the U.S. Air Force. I'll go into more detail in the weight loss section as to my details and whatnot.

I'm really happy to have found this forum, looks like a really great community full of supportive people. I look forward to reading and posting here and have already found a wealth of information in the sticky.

Nice to meet you all!

Thank you! I'm learning a lot already and keeping motivated.

Went to lunch with some family today to a pizza joint....MAN it was hard not to eat some of their pizza. My Greek salad was awesome though, lol.

Yummy Greek salad, good on you for not giving into temptation. I have had to be on a diet for Leaky Gut Syndrome so it has gotten easier when I go out to reject bad food

You need to find out your weight limitations. My husband is 5'9 and he cannot be above 185 lbs. The military across the board has same standards. I am 5'3 and I could not be above 145. (army) The more you run before you join the better. You will have to pass your pt test and do about 42 pushups, 58 sit ups, and run 2 miles in a set time. The more you work on that now, the better you will be when you join! Good Luck, the air force is strict on rules when you join, but they are very easy, and their bootcamp is too easy also. If you go onto answers.yahoo.com there is a military section there, and they can help you with a lot of stuff!
