Is this impossible?

As you see by name i am a skinny fat man now that may make 0 sense but i look like a tooth pick. I'm 5'9 and weigh 183 and have 24% body fat...I use to be 330 pounds

I wanna bulk up but i still wanna lose the body fat to like 14% is that possible? Or will i have to basically get skinnier then gain the muscle back? I dont wanna lose actual pounds jus body fat...

Thanks

if you are truly at 24% bodyfat, an 183lbs, I think you lack muscle mass at this point. You're the same height at me, and I'm almost 20lbs heavier than you, however my bodyfat is about 26%.

I'm not skinny fat...I'm just fat/overweight.

I hate to say it but I think you lost a lot of muscle mass as you dropped all that other weight.
This is totally fixable though. In your situation, you might want to try a body recomposition, rather than bulking or cutting.

that's basically eating at your maintenance calories, and lifting for muscle mass (8-12 reps a set). You'll add muscle, and lose fat...slowly, but I think if you get your muscle mass up a bit, it'll make it easier to lose some fat when you start to focus solely on cutting.

the body needs a certain number of calories per day to maintain its current composition. no weight increase, no weight lost.

if you eat like this, and train, your body will slowly burn fat, and slowly add muscle.
its slow, but on a normal bulk you usually gain some fat, and on a typical cut, you lose a little muscle mass.

so i'd try to tip the scales a little bit with a recomposition, and then either bulk or cut depending on your progress.
