Calorie intake question

Once you find out how many calories you should be taking in per day, does it matter what time of day you consume them or is it only important that you consume your max intake?

What is your goal, weight gain or lost? Are you excercising?

Some on the forum may object to this suggestion but I like to spread my calories over 5-6 meals with each about equal in calorie, carbs, protein, and fats.

I'm kind of with tic on this one, I spread my calories out over probably about 5 or 6 mini meals, spread around my exercise regimen. And I try to not to eat too much for my last meal. Not really due to any weight control issues, but because I don't sleep well on a full stomach. :drooling1::sleeping:

I agree with the other two posters. I try my best to stick to 5-6 meals and spread the cals over those meals. I know that you should eat a very good breakfast so make sure you get lots of cals in at that time too.

Some here will disagree, but the net effects between many vs. fewer meals isn't going to be appreciable when calories and nutrients are accounted for.

I'd say it depends on how well your activity level matches your intake. It seems to me that if you're hungrier, you'll probably take in more calories with each of those 5 or 6 small meals (more chance for error) than 3 or 4.

Weight loss is the goal, and yea, I'm exercising.

Why would someone object to eating 5-6 small meals per day? Not sure why they would need to be equal in calories though?
