Newb

Hi there. I recently came across this forum and thought I would introduce myself. I have been working out off and on for a year or so. Usually for a month or two then stop and start again. Not much consistency at all and eat a lot of junk food. I am not overweight however, and am pretty active overall. I started the p90x program on monday, and its definitely kicking my a$$!! I have barely been able to walk since doing the Plyometrics on Tuesday lol. I am also following the meal plan pretty closely. I am not overweight, (5'4" and 125lbs) but really want to get stronger because I do a lot of atv/sled/bike riding. I do have a couple questions...

Are their protein supplements specific to women? I am using GNC pro performance whey protein right now. My husband bounces back and forth between that and muscle milk, so just started using what was in the house. He also just started the p90x.

I always thought that you shouldn't work out muscles when they were sore. p90x only gives you one day between the ab ripper workout. Is it ok to do it when your abs are very sore?

Is there a better time of day to work out? Sometimes I have to do it at 530am before work or 9pm at night.

Thanks for any help. I cant wait til 90 days is up and I have before and after photos!!!

From what I know, it's better to workout in the morning. This is because by training in the morning, you'll wake up faster and be mentally alert at the crack of dawn. It'll also give you time to plan your day effectively before getting to work. Training in the morning will help "jump-start" your metabolism and keep it elevated for up to 24 hours, thus burning more calories throughout the day. I hope this helps you and good luck with that Plyometrics (sounds painful!).

I'm not familiar with the p90 workout but the one i'm familiar with you do workout even when sore. You should be eating protein with every meal. I also believe that working out in the morning is more beneficial for you. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks so much for the help, Ill try to do my session in the mornings now. I have been eating protein with most every meal, so hopefully that helps.
