Anyone? I am doing one in March or April ( haven't decided which to do yet) but am gearing up and starting my contest diet.
Those of you who plan to compete, how early do you start your diet? What changes about your training?
This time I plan on winning or placing very high! I want this BAD. I will also be going it alone without a trainer since funds are limited.
My diet will be much the same as last time but earlier and more strict adherence. Towards the last 4 weeks I will do a lot of carb cycling. I eliminate dairy and fruit pretty much from the get go since both have not so great effects on my body and seem to create cravings for me. Salt intake will be greatly reduced 4 weeks out and I will probably get rid of the egg whites 1week out because of the sodium content.
I plan on breaking up the cardio to 2x day on the days I don't have my kids and doing interval training 2x time a week but not before or after the day I train legs. This could be tricky to schedule.
I did myself some harm last time by overtraining- this time I would like to be injury free. Also last time I did high reps and low weight but I think I will do that closer to the end and stick to heavy until 6 weeks out.
I am OK with my upper body development. Definitely will do more chest training this time and bring out my lats more but my main focus will be on legs! This is the hardest part for females to develop and get that fluff off.
I will post pics soon for my before and do progression shots too.
Any tips on leg training would be greatly appreciated!
The bodyfat truck is coming to the gym next weekend and I will be getting measured and figuring out where I want to be for my show. It's exciting! I love getting ready for a competition. :luxlove:
