would i lose muscle if i dont train for 1 week because of flu???
thanks
If you are sick, let your body heal itself, and then get back in it.
Logically, if one has been training for several months (consistently, persistently, and with much vitality), one week isn't going to suddenly erase many months of work--when speaking strength/muscle growth.
However the "degree" of its effect will largely depend on how the flu affects your body, and what you eat to combat its problems.
For example, you may lose some water retention, because of the lack of fluid retention during the course of having the flu (for example, having some diarrhea, vomiting, during this time).
In addition, dependent on your diet (and the above characteristics, carbohydrate, fiber intake, etc), you could "appear" as if you lost some muscle mass because of this water loss.
Remember, muscle tissue is "largely" made of water, and if you lose some water, the muscle tissue will appear smaller, and potentially weaker, due to the lack of nutrients (etc) that would otherwise take up resident, if you were healthy.
Usually after you get better, and return to a normal diet, water retention will return (and if applicable, strength) your muscles will refill, and you should bounce right back with a vengeance, after a small period of the body "not quite being at its peak self".
Remember, your body is using "its resources" to fight off an invader (thus the fever, diarrhea, vomiting, some experience), and is fighting to survive, and this simply isn't the same as taking a scheduled week off training after training for a considerable period.
When the smoke clears, our health is the single most important thing we cherish.
The ones that train for pure vanity will give all their good looks up to grasp: Health. When it comes right down to the bare bones.
In this situation, your health is number one. When you get better,
take your training stats from your previous workout, and go in the gym to beat those numbers, and simply progress where you left off. If you do not, give yourself a consequence for not being able to do it, and show no fuggen mercy

.
You will be fine.
Best wishes,
Chillen
