plain protein question

Hello,

I am new to this forum, but not new to BB. I am trying to find a good protein shake that does not contain any sweeteners or added sugar - just plain whey protein. I have allergy on sweeteners and need to watch my weight thus I am avoiding sugar. If I need to add a flavor or sweetness I always can add some fruits to my shake.
Can anybody please direct me to manufacturer or shop that sells such protein? Thank you all.

I do not like artificial sweeteners or even sugar alcohols. Most artificial sweeteners give me migraines, and sugar alcohols mess with my blood glucose.

So I would use this:

or this: (This is new, I have not tried this yet.)

with this at night:

Caveat: There is sucralose in the casein.

Thank you, buddy. I assume that proteins you have mentioned do not taste sweet?! That is usually the problem: the manufacturer claims that there is no any ARTIFICIAL sweeteners or flavors, but when you actually try it, it loaded with some natural sweeteners, which I also can not stand. That happend to me when I bought all "natural" protein from COSTCO. I am trying to find a protein that is not sweetened by any means...

The ON Natural Whey has fructose in it.
The ON Oats Whey has honey and cane juice powder in it.

I'm diabetic, and I haven't gone into a coma with the ON products ;) The nutritional breakdown is WYSIWYG.

Do you have a supplement store where you live? Phone them, ask them what supplements have ZERO sugars/sugar alcohols/artificial sweeteners.

This might be something you want to take a look at:

Unfortunately, I believe it contains stevia.

Fructose is fine with me, but stevia is out of question - bad, bad, bad. How much fructose is in ON whey? Thank you.

3g of sugar ... 5g of total carbs in the ON Natural Whey.

8g of sugar and 22g of total carbs in the ON Oats and Whey.

They are all different in nutritional composition, so make sure you get the one with the least amount of carbs. I'm assuming you don't want high carbs with this ;)

If you click on the links I cited and click on "Nutritional information", you'll get the breakdown.

trueprotein.com, check it out. Products->Proteins and Supplements-> Proteins from the menu at the top. I recommend the "Complete Milk Dairy Isolate". It's milk minus the sugar and fat. No, whey is not better "because its faster". Enter TME100 for 5% off, if you do order.

Quality is higher than the stuff i_love's suggesting. Notice the nutritional info says 0 fat, 0.5-0g carbs per serving. They will let you do anything you want, from the options you just pick plain with nothing added (as that's the base - they will mix in whatever you tell them to, or nothing, it's up to you). They have specials on massive quantities of whey currently, too. And because they're a deal, they don't come with flavors, but that's what you want!

I have 50 lbs of chocolate mint whey sitting in my pantry. XD At one serving a day it will last me.. a while, lol.

Focus, you really like this trueprotein stuff, don't you?

The product you suggest has both whey and casein. Some people don't want both.

The issue here is this guy wants zero sugar/sugar alcohols/sugar substitutes. And when I looked at the whey products, almost all of them have some sugar, but they don't say what it is.

At least ON tells you.

Some people are wrong. Objectively. :p

You did catch the part about their being massive selection, right? Did you even bother to look around before questioning me?

0g fat, 0g carb. When you're going to compare things, try to make sure you're comparing apples vs apples (whey isolate vs whey isolate) and not apples vs cantaloupe (whey isolate vs. cheap ass whey concentrate). I'm gonna take that as a no wrt to bothering to look around first.

Also, they list the ingredients. Which are: fresh skim milk. From this you can infer that any sugar is lactose that hasn't been removed. That is, if you're the thinking sort.

Edit: does it feel hot in here or is it just me??? :p

You suggested the Complete Milk Dairy Isolate, Focus. That is the product I was referring to.

You're losing your mind ... eat more.

No, you just lack reading comprehension. That product contains 0.5g carb per serving. The ingredients include: fresh skim milk. From this we can conclude the 0.5g carb is lactose.

From this we can also conclude that your argument, as it stands, in support of ON is entirely ludicrous.

More importantly, the OP said he is looking for a product with no added sugars or sweeteners. Hence my subrecommendation, which as you correctly deduced was in fact CMDI. However, if you are to compare the two providers, you ought compare the same product, which in this case is the cold-filtered whey isolate. When you do so with correct reasoning, you realize that trueprotein.com is clearly vastly superior to ON.

Generally speaking, if you disagree with me, you are wrong. Hope this helps! <3

I don't like it, Focus. It's rude and if you were in front of me, you'd be eating my fist. And then sucking your food through a straw. You'd certainly lose weight with your jaw wired shut ...

I still think you are a misogynist that has absolutely zero respect for women. Although you seem to treat men the same way. Perhaps it's just an overall lack of respect for humanity.

hahahahahaaha

Focus is probably selling the stuff. He sure sounds like a pushy used car salesman.

Oh. My mistake.

I sure would, but for the same reason I am now: because I would drink quality meal replacements, mixed to my exact specifications (and with 0g carb in them) at trueprotein.com!

Teeheehee. XD

And I think you are letting your irrational biases obscure the truth. Respect is earned, not given unconditionally.

But, let's set that aside. What would you prefer I do when you argue badly without having bothered to verify your premise first? Ignore you? Pat you on the head and smile? This is a forum, the aim of which is traditionally to spread good information. I don't see how you could expect any virtuous human being to do either.

Replying to an inchoate critique of something you've written is not "pushy". I find your consistent lack of true/useful things to say deeply disturbing.

good..........

So your contribution to this thread is to troll in support of trolling? Lovely.
