And another one!

Hey everybody, another newbie here.

Aside from the vulgar smilies I just noticed (haha!), I'm here to get fit! :jump1:

I'm 18 years old and I'm 5'4.2" (yes, when you're my height, every tenth of an inch counts!) and I weigh about 150 pounds. This means I have a BMI of about 25.6, which means I'm still overweight. (No doubt due to my poor diet.) A fitness teacher at my school measured my body fat percentage in August (when I weighed about 160  ) and it was 22.1%. I'm not exactly sure if that's accurate, but, who can really know for sure?

My goals are to get down to a BMI of 20-21 (weight between 117-123 pounds) and a body fat percentage around 17-18%.

Uh, I guess that's pretty much it?

Hope to get to know the people on the board and learn a lot in the process. Glad to be here!

Is it just me or is this writing extra small?

Welcome to the forum fitvicious, Its a great place so stick around!

Hope you achieve your goals and hope to see you around the board.

Wooohoo!

Hey mate, there is plenty of help here, go check out the nutrition stuff, and get to know it. I have only been here a short time also, but I finding learning and dealing with my diet is one the biggest things you will need to do in order to control your weight. Good luck! And go do some running! Also some push-ups, to get used to exercise. Make it a habbit. Once you make small improvements you will not want to give up, as you will waste that effort.

I spent 7 mnths tricking my brain into doing this as I know how "my" mind works (well not really, but in that respect I do), find out how your brain will best respond.

See ya

Welcome--I'm new too. (I'm also half blind & can't read the tiny print very well, so I make mine bigger) There is so much information & motivational stuff here, it's the best fitness site I've ever found!

Have fun reading, learning & DOING!:action5::action6:

olga p-I wanna get healthier & I WILL

It's not your imagination, L-T, I made my font a size 1 instead of the normal size 2.

Thanks for the welcome! :action11:

Welcome to the forum! You'll find lots of info here and there are quite a few "experts" on a variety of subjects. I've learned a lot ;)

Just an aside, thought I'd let you know I need an electron microscope to read your posts :D I've got the monitor on my laptop set at max resolution, and the typing in your posts is virtually unreadable until I click "quote" and it shows up in the reply box :(

I am not new, welcome
