A Few Questions

About me.

I started dieting somtime in the last 6 weeks with serious work for 4 weeks. My peak weight was 244 and im down to 231 (5'8), I go to the gym every single day and do some sort of cardio and this week I started swimming for 30-45 minutes every night at home. My goal weight is sub 200 by november(getting married on the 15th), but I dont want to loose muscle mass on the way down. While getting to this weight wasnt a "clean bulk" id like to make it a "clean cut " ?

Below are some questions im curious about. Thanks for the help.

I was wondering if coke zero is bad for you, I personally do not drink soft drinks im not very interested in them but my SO does and Ive always wondered how bad it was.

Im also counting calories on a site called fitday but im not very satisfied with the database of foods on the site. Do any of you have any recomendations on sites that are considered among the best for calorie counting. ??

Seasoning.

I make my chicken in as many different ways as possible. Here are some of the recipes I use.

Rub1.
6 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons Ground black pepper
2 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons packed brown sugar ( I use 1 )
Pinch of cayenne for kick ( Optional )
Rub 2 ( spicy )
1/4 cup paprika
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons ground dried mild to medium hot red chile. ( New Mexican, ancho, pasilla these are chiles )
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1teaspoon brown sugar.

Lemon Rosemary paste-

2/3 cup olive oil. You can use less.
1/2 cup fresh rosemary sprigs
Juice of 2 lemons and zest off the skin.
1/4-1/2 cup chopped onions
3 garlic cloves
2 teaspoons salt.
Put all this in a food processor like the magic bullet and puree it. I wouldn't leave your chicken in this for more than 1 day.

Marinade 1

2/3 cup light rum
1/2 onion Minced or puree it all its fine.
Juice of 2 limes
1 tablespoon of olive oil.

I usually make this with a peach relish
1 - 2 cups chopped peaches
2 tablespoons of rum
Zest and juice of one lime
Some hot sauce to taste
Salt to taste.

Marinade 2 - I use this one for steak.

3/4 Cup Balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil
3 -4 garlic cloves
1/2 onion
Black ground pepper to taste & salt to taste
Then I throw in some thyme, sage, rosemary or parsley.
Puree it all let the steak marinate up to one day.

I never let any meat marinate more than a day and I grill all of this.

I also do one with bbq sauce where I just add an amount thats eyeballed with some garlic salt and onion powder and pepper. Then I let it sit for a few days. When I grill it, I dont let the excess BBQ sauce stay on the breast I scrape it off and cook it.

well i know that everybodys different but I think i can give you a few suggestions make sure that your cut is only a 20% defecit. Im also on a cut right now and somedays especially cuz its gettin warmer ill skip meal by mistake and I can always notice a difference the next time I lift so make sure your eating enough even while dieting. also as a runner I had to cut down on that alot its funny I can burn the same amt of cals doin somethin else but seem to hold muscle better doin elliptical or something, as far as counting cals i do it all in my head but im not really carbohydrate sensitive therefore Im not very peticular about nutrient ratios (although im still in the ball park) so as long as I stick to carbs before my workout Ive never noticed a problem. Keep lifting def dont slack on that!!!
