Need some advice on Jogging

hello people, this is my first time here , nice to meet you all. :)(not sure if i posted this here correctly)

Ok i got alot of questions in my mind , so let me start with this ;

1) WIll the way i breathe affect my stamina?for example, someone told me to breathe in through my nose and breathe out through my mouth, but i always does 1 way inhale and exhale both from my mouth

2) I normally do the 2.4KM run , I feel i can go on cause i still have stamina left, but my leg doesnt have the strength, how can i improve that?

3) I recently started eating raw eggs. So should i eat them, and wait like 2hours then start jogging or eat them after i jog?I normally do some lower abs/situps training after i jog.

thats about all i can think of now :D
Thanks in advance people!Cheers!

1. Breath how you`re comfortable i dont believe it matters

2. Your stamina in the legs will get better just keep pushing yourself

3. Why are you eating raw eggs??? cook em they taste better Rocky

Breathing in through your nose has the advantage that your nasal passageways filter some pathogens and particles before they reach your lungs whereas if you breath in through your mouth, the bad stuff goes directly into your lungs.

The best way to build up leg stamina is to keep doing it. So, keep doing it. But, I would recommend going a little farther. In building up stamina and endurance, your body replicates mitochondria and the capillary network - but only if asked to! Generally, you get get mitochondrial and capillary production with activities that last for at least 45 minutes, so that should be your goal.

Raw eggs?!!! What Marko said! Not only do they taste better cooked, but you greatly lower your risk of Salmonella poisoning by cooking them first. Don't eat raw eggs unless you and your family understand and accept the risks!

thanks for your input , but i saw many body builders taking raw eggs . thought it has more protein?

Raw egg bad, raw egg have aviden, aviden bind with biotin, biotin all gone, create deficiency, yonghan now miss biotin, younghan now sick...

I even phrased it as a bodybuilder would.^

Cooking an egg doesn't lose protein - the protein is still there. What happens are most bacteria, like salmonella, are killed and the enzymes (proteins) are denatured (changed in shape). When you eat any protein, your body breaks down the protein into its individual amino acid monomers, floats them in your blood system, and re-assembles them as the protein, e.g., muscle fiber, that it needs.

As for stamina, any distance you run will increase your stamina but 45 minutes provides a lot of benefits so go that distance as often as you can.

My whole family is a very active family, my dad is a personal trainer at a gym, my uncles run marathons and so does one of my aunts. anyhow they have passed there knowledge on to me and to tell you the truth i don't do so bad haha. when I wake up in the morning for a jog i just grab a couple swigs of orange juice and go off jogging for about 45 minutes. While you run you MUST have good form its really key. First when you swing your arms back and forth ALWAYS keep you hands open, not closed or fisted. Make sure your elbow travels up parallel to the ground as you swing it back. AND yes your friend where right, breathe IN through your nose and OUT your mouth, this helps keep your breathing in control.

I've been doing track for a long time and this is good advice. Another thing is people like to bend their arms closer when they're in front of their bodies. If you do that, stop. Keep your arms in an angle a little below 90 degress and swing them from your shoulders. Don't bend your arms closer to your body when they move in front of you. The only movement should be from your shoulders.

Bend your arms at your elbow a little less than 90 degress and ONLY swing from your shoulders.

About breathing in through your nose and out of your mouth, that helps set a rhythm for your breathing. If you do that you'll have a more even breathing pattern.

Breath however gets enough air in! Some people say in through your mouth out through your nose when you get stitch.

As for the eggs, I think all the others have said enough about that.

1) Breath the way you feel best, I don't think it makes that much difference at "amateur" level. Just remember to breath without thinking it too much.

2) Run slower and gradually rise the running pace, running too fast will only get your pulse high and that wears your feet.. or atleast it does it to me. To get stamina to your legs, try to run small hill or stairs up and down.

3) I don't think it matters that much when you eat your eggs at this point. Just eat enough and if you wan't to get your proteins from the eggs, I think it is better to eat them after your workouts.

Are you running to get stamina or lose weight? I run a couple of times a week and vary it each time. Sometimes I go 45 mins at a steady pace, sometimes i do sprint intervals for 30 mins. It makes the time go by, makes it more enjoyable and im leaning out without really trying.

Never get tired smiling from those kind of lines.

Regarding yonghan's queries:

1. More efficient if breathing in the mouth. You should mind the pollution that should have been filtered by your nostrils though. Properly regulated breathing will prevent you from gassing out early.

2. Your leg muscles will adjust inevitably. Set a higher goal (longer distance) if you feel that your legs are starting to get bored.

3. Raw eggs should be avoided as everyone stated. There are common, cheap, good sources of proteins so start from them.

Good luck on your endeavor.
