New girl from England!

Hi there! I have to admit I've been lurking on your forum for about 6 months now! Decided it was time to come out of hiding and introduce myself. I'm currently living in SW England with my brit husband, but home is San Francisco. Been here two very long years now and will finally be moving back to SF in June. (yay!)

I've lost 12lbs in the last 7 months, currently 139lbs 5'8". Finally picked up my dumbbells and started using them 3 days per week for about an hour. I jog/walk and swim laps for cardio. I also love vinyasa flow yoga which I practice at home in the mornings. I'm focusing now more on my measurements and how my clothes fit rather than those meaningless numbers on the scale.

Lets see, I'm also a vegetarian (not super strict at all, I eat eggs, butter & some cheese) I'm an excellent cook and still cook meat for my boy & friends I just don't like eating it!

Well, thanks for reading and I hope to become part of your community here. I promise not to post a bunch of questions then run away never to be seen again!! :p

I'm down in Bristol. It's a pretty cool city but I'm done living in England! I miss the California sun! And where is spring?! It snowed here yesterday!

wldcome!

hahahah the "promise" was cool, I hate when people do that.

tell us more about that mornign yoga thing please.

I have recently started working from home and need a new morning routine.

Hey flyinfree,

I use several different DVDs for yoga. The word Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” You move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. The poses run together for more movement rather than just stretching for longer periods of time. I do a combination of vinyasa/power yoga type DVDs so I actually work up quite a sweat!

A couple of my favorites are (all available on amazon.com):

Sacred Yoga with Rainbow Mars (Sacred Sweat & Pure Power)
Long & Lean Yoga with Baron Baptiste
Yoga Zone Power Yoga for Strength & Endurance

I recently bought Shiva Rea Fluid Power but haven't tried it yet. :)
