Weight Gainer for Fast Metabolism?

I've heard that most weight gainers are filled with nasty sugary carbs which is how they are able to fill you with so many calories...

This is why i have avoided them up untill now..

After my first 2 weeks of my first ever 'bulk' its been a slight disaster in that i've actually lost weight, despite eating 500 calories more than my maintence number...

This is why i have been reading about Progain by Maximuscle, and it seems promising from what they promise on the website, but is what they say true, or is it still packed with all the usual gunk most other weight gainers use?

"packed with whey protein and the healthy calories you need to bulk up and add size"

I'm going to give it another couple of weeks eating as much as i can during the day to try and gain more weight, but would very much like peoples opinions on this to set my head straight!

cheers much :D

If you lost weight, then you weren't eating 500 over your maintence number. You may have been eating 500 over your estimated maintance provided by a calculator, but we're all different. If you list the ingredients I'll check it otu for you but generally speaking you'd be better off just bringing in some more food.

Yeh your right.. I got to say though, as a first time bulker, its difficult getting so much food inside of me.. makes me feel pretty damn sick at times.. I'm sure my stomach will get used to it in time? I suppose thats one reason why i was keen on the Progain idea..

Thanks for the reply :D

Eating big takes practice. how many meals a day are you eating? what does your food look like? how many calories are you trying to hit?

Just wanted to add: Don't forget liquid calories (of the good kind)!

They are a huge benefit to someone bulking who otherwise has trouble getting down "enough" food.

For example, chocolate milk has protein, sugar, and can function just the same - if not better - than any fancy "weight gainer."

i thought it was preferable to avoid sugar where possible and get calories from healthier options? still, thanks for the suggestion.. seems a good idea for, as you say, someone like me whos struggeling to stuff down all the food!

Show me the ingredients for this stuff, how many grams of protein, carbs, and fat, and how many grams of sugar. I always notice when I got from cutting to bulking, my appetite is nowhere near where it needs to be. Have you ever seen a fat person eat? They eat HUGE, several plates, but they couldn't do that over night, it took them some practice and hard work, haha. Don't worry about it, your appetite will come just keep working at it and soon you'll feel like you NEED that much food.
