new here, Hello hello

Hello there people

I'm new to the forum, here. I'm fairly new to the weight loss forum as well.

I am working out 5x a week. 40-45 min. of cardio. and 15-20 min. of weight training.

:newbie:

Is this enough time on my weight-training?

Just an add on to my introduction

I'm a 53 year-old woman.
I have just, in the past two months, come back to exercising.
I am also free of a drug addiction and smoking in the same time frame.

Can I expect my body to be 'getting used to' living without this substances in it, and how can this affect my overall results from watching my weight and strenth-weight training.

I have put on almost 15 lbs. since I stopped all this at the end of September.
Having been underweight at the time, this isn't unhealthy, just uncomfortable for me.

Can I hope to my body going back to normal-and losing weight and gaining strength and definition at a regular rate? It seems to be going very slowly right about now.

thanks to one and all who can help me:newbie:

Welcome. I say you can achieve whatever you truly commit yourself to. Congrats on kicking the habits and good luck in your goals.

Are you seeing the results you want with this training program?

Hey welcome to the forum, i'd suggest creating a journal to further assist you with your goals.

Again welcome, and happy posting.

If your seeing changes, as Tony asked above, then keep doing what you are doing untill you stall. Remember, diet is going to be the deciding factor when trying to reach a fitness goal.

Big congrats to you on kicking the smoking and drug addiction!

Welcome aboard! :)

thank you all for replying!

I'm very much appreciative.

I am keeping a journal over on this great website, which offers some helpful info.

I need to rethink portions-no surprise there!-and the little 'incidentals' which I am not used to thinking about or adding in to my day consumption.

I know I can achieve anything I sent my mind to, having done so with my addictions.
I'm proud of myself, too, for having kicked such horrible addictions.

What I was asking is would my body be in a state of flux caused by end of the addictions. When I was using, I was almost starving myself.

I am not, at least I don't think I am, asking for an excuse to be made on my behalf.
I think it is a rational, thought out question.

again, thanks to all who've come to help me!

Congratulations on kicking two powerful addictions - I'd think that would definitely cause a change in your body. Adapting to a healthier lifestyle is a flux that you'd want to have.
