All the way live; Northern Iraq

Hey Guys,

I just joined the site to learn some good info regarding fitness. I'm originally from Massachusetts, but am currently deployed to Northern Iraq in support of the Operations Iraqi Freedom...

Anyway, a little background, shall we? : I quit smoking right before I left, so it's been 2 months, and I've been running and doing some weight training to keep my mind off of cigarettes, and to get myself fit. It's going okay, but I've got some questions, and maybe could use a little advice. My screen-name is derived by the fact that I'm training to try-out for Special Forces, and need to train hard, and quickly, to meet my deadlines in about 4 months.

Anyway, where should I post questions and requests for routines and assistance??

Thanks!!!

JT

Welcome to the forum!

You'll be a great addition.

Welcome! I am in Massachusetts - How about our Red Sox!?!

No one is very particular here about where stuff gets posted but if you are looking for workout advice, I'd try the Men's Health/Weight Training or Body Building sections.

I am pretty novice at weight training and I'm female, so probably can't offer much advice but a lot of the guys who post here are really knowledgable and generous with advice.

Take care of yourself.

Thanks for the kind words.. I guess most of my questions, which I'll send over to Men's health, were geared towards a speedy cut-down on running times, and tips on pull-ups...

And the Red Sox did wicked awesome in the WS.. It's too bad most of the games were on at 3AM here, (we're a bunch of hours ahead of the East coast).

Yes, the time difference is annoying - although some of the games finished at 1:00 am here, so yhe last few innings you could watch with breakfast - I'm sure that everyone in the military would understand that it was more important to watch the Red Sox than do calisthenics at dawn, right?

Last summer my brother was in Iraq and it was always wierd to me that I was writing to him late at night and he was reading it right away but it was already the next day...

Stay Safe!
