Lift, Train, Fitness

It was wet this morning but got out to get more pics for Uni, I was struggling to find a triangles composition subject to photograph. Spent time in the gym this arvo, it was a sweat box as the sun came out and the humidity sky rocketed.

Little miss keeps climbing on her steps in the kitchen pointing to the biltong box, she loves the biltong but this batch still has a week to go before it is ready to slice.

Isn´t it wild how much difference a child´s environment makes?

Unlike a lot of 3 year olds she is not attracted to things like McDonalds or KFC because it is not something she is exposed to much, her older brother may bring home junk occasionally otherwise most meals are cooked from scratch because of my allergies. She gets a non food treat each week when she is well behaved at the supermarket (a matchbox car). we do have yoghurt based ice creams or just flavoured ice tubes (zooper doopers) which she also enjoys at times, like tonight she had an ice treat which was used as a tasty ice pack for a grazed elbow. She enjoys drinking water ! Her favourite food in her lunchbox at childcare is plain tuna (drained, packed in spring-water) and at home will grab cans of tuna out of the pantry and hand it to me when she wants some or if asked what she would like to eat. Fresh eggs are also a popular choice. Her favourite fruit like most kids would be watermelon, red grapes, banana and apple but not to keen on citrus.

A much better start than chocolate and gummies I'm sure, especially if it means you don't have to restrict how much she can eat.

EPP II assessment for assessing movement, prescribing correctives and coaching those correctives is done, feel confident my coaching partner and I nailed it.

you know it is a relaxed class when you come into the elite gym and one of the tutors is kicking back, feet on desk chowing down on McDonalds lol

I knew that this course had a high dropout rate, but I found out today that it has the highest dropout rate for any degree at the Uni. Normal intake is around 130 students each year and it is a good result if 30 of them graduate.

Spent last night doing a photoshoot with son 3 last night, pics came out ok despite not having tanned his skin, next time I hope to have some bodybuilding tanning lotion to get a little better definition. I will post pics once my assignment has been done, today I need to be selective and pick out 15 photos for the assignment. I also have an online exercise prescription exam this week.

Is the English word for making leather out of hide really the same as the word for giving your skin color? I never noticed that before!

yes, I feel sorry for people learning English as a second language because there is a lot of words that have multiple meanings and the grammar/spelling rules have no consistency at all.

:p I find the inconsistent pronunciation WAY more confusing. The grammar is (for me) relatively simple compared to German or Latin and the spelling would be ok if all English-speaking countries stuck to the same rules...
Both processes give the skin/hide a tan (pale brown) color.
True, and people who tan too much do often end up with leather-like skin :p

Son 3 has DOMS from the photo shoot :smilielol5:I have shared one pic of him on Facebook but can only be seen by friends, nothing public till after submitting assignment.

I have chosen my 15 photos for the assignment, post production done, just have to finish writing process journal tomorrow. Credit just short of a distinction for my practical exam.

Completed online EPPII exam, happy with distinction, most of my photography assignment has been done, I still have a couple of days to finish the journal section which contains a small preview of each photo in the portfolio with all of the technical info of the shot. Still need to write my thought process for each shot.

Woke up this morning with a headache, which cleared ok to do the online exam, but feeling like I cannot stuff my head with more facts and science at the moment, time to hit the gym for a workout, before returning to study (finishing photog assignments, review advanced core training in prep for video assessment)

Exercise for the day

Walk to the gym shed
Clean the gym - still had photography stuff to put away and black spray paint residue on the floor after the quick redecoration of one wall for photo shoot.

RAMP - Snow Angels on foam roller, T-spine mobility, Incline scapular push-ups
Core - Palloff Press, Bird Dog
Strength - Bench Press super set inverted rows
Metabolic Conditioning - Stationary Bike

Run back to house - it started to bucket down raining.

This is the training I coached son 3 through tonight, keep in mind this is for a fit 22 year old with great mobility and stability, I forgot to time the full session but took around 35 minutes to complete including setup for each exercise. Program is based around explosive power and strength with anaerobic energy system training at the end for martial arts. The last set of pull-ups induced failure on rep 3

In Order

Specificity - The program is specific to his sporting needs
Individuality - The program is individualised to his abilities
Progressive Overload - All exercises can be incremented in complexity or added weight to provide additional loading.
Variation - Program to be changed in 3-5 weeks

Posting the program not as a suggested program for members but as an example of program design tailored to the individual athlete.

I like that you include the speed in your description, very useful. Like you said: definitely not a program for your average Joe.
