Slowly does it, Sunflower.

I’m so jealous of your toasted sandwich maker - they really are the best.

I also think the Friday treat of soup/bread from the fancy restaurant is such a good idea. Something to look forward to but not a diet-ruining takeaway either!

Yesterday was a day not even my swanky, posh lunch could save (although the soup was literally the best soup of my life. I could have wept with how delicious it was.) Work is hard, sometimes..more so in these weird times. Never mind, new day today.

So yesterday was a bit of a fail - I worked late so no walk with L and Yank. Ended up just watching Greys Anatomy last night and eating pasta. Calories were 1682 which is not horrendous.

And I did my weigh in this morning (lovely 05:50 wake up call from darling L...)

Losses

Week 1: -4lbs

Very happy with this. I've still had some treats and I've not exercised every day. Goals for next week are to get my 10,000 steps EVERY day and to have 4 alcohol free days. Easy peasy...she says..Having breakfast is something I still find hard, especially as my mornings start SO early now. Thought of food makes me feel a bit ill til mid-morning. L had porridge with chia seeds and peanut butter this morning. We are raising him veggie (me and Yank went vegetarian in January) and I worry about him getting enough goodness. He loves green veg, the occasional bit of fish (usually a fish finger which I hate giving him) but hates eggs so worry he doesn't eat enough of the right things for a veggie baby. Chia/flax seeds seem an easy way to get some nice things in him. He is a monster of a child, on the 98th percentile for height and weight!

Right, off plow through the morning with as much energy as I can muster (which is, admittedly, not a bloody lot this morning!)

Even if you can´t really, practically, help someone I´m sure it makes a difference for them to know someone cares. You do great work and I couldn´t stomach it.
Well done losing 4 lbs! Do you have a morning break you could move your breakfast to? There´s no real reason to have breakfast right away if you don´t feel like having it - as long as you still have it on hand to grab so you don´t get so hungry you´ll eat anything for lunch.
I don´t have kids but my nephews are growing up (mostly) vegetarian with very few eggs (because my sisters are allergic) and they´re doing fine. If you´re unsure maybe you could reach out to a dietitian who specializes in kids or veggie lifestyles?

Thanks LaMa - Not sure I can stomach it some days, either! Feel much better today, sometimes I just have to wallow a little. I could try and eat something later in the morning.. I almost enjoy the "fasting" element to not having breakfast. We eat dinner at 20:00 usually and then often I don't have lunch the next day until 14:00 so it's a long ol' stretch and I don't feel hungry until lunch time so seems silly to make myself eat if I'm not. However, do know that having breakfast is important. Maybe tomorrow! I have a few dietitian pals, I might reach out.

Weird day today - got some bad news about Yank's dad, he has cancer which sounds pretty bad although we only found out today. Yank's mum has cancer too (they are separated) and his brother died 5 years ago so he is feeling sad and worried. Especially with them both being in the States and him being here. Still waiting to hear more about his treatment.

Week 2 - Day 1

Lunch: leftover swanky soup and bread (350)
Dinner: home-made pizzas (800)
Snacks: carrot sticks and hummus (105)

Total: 1255
Steps: 10,000

Sorry to hear about Yank´s parents. Both of them being ill must be so tough, especially with them each being alone and far away.

I thought I had posted yesterday, but my reply was still sitting here.
I am so sorry about Yank's parents, hon. Poor yank :grouphug:
Well done on losing 4 lbs already. Considering your very difficult job, C19, lack of sleep & all the obstacles in your way you still managed to lose 4 lbs :) Hearing about Yank's parents just rocked me a bit so I can't imagine how he must be feeling. You are both so lucky to have one another & little L :beating: I am so grateful to have my G & our sons. Sending you a great big hug :grouphug:

Oh i am so sorry to hear about Yanks dad . All bad news seems so much worse right now. I hope he will be ok.

Good job on the 4lb loss. Very inspiring.
Is it the new series of greys you are watching . It's very good .

Yeah, it's really rubbish. He's putting on a brave face but I know how worried and sad he is. Least we have each other and little L.

We did a glorious walk this morning - think it was about 5 miles. Look how clear the ocean is! Was beautiful. L had a little paddle and I got in up to my knees as well.. was just lovely and refreshing and calming. Another reminder how why we live by the sea. This is ten minutes from our door.

Also did some cooking today for L - I made potato, carrot and courgette rostis which looked very nice. L seemed to enjoy them, anyway. Love cooking for him, although would be easier to just give him what we had.. too much salt in my risotto tonight!

Week 2 - Day 2

Lunch: beans on crumpet (288)
Dinner: mushroom and walnut risotto with Parmesan, green beans, shallots and white wine. glass of merlot (940)
Snacks: carrot sticks, 1 small ice lolly (207)

Total: 1435
Steps: 13,000

Is it the new series of greys you are watching . It's very good .

It's not - I think I'm on Season 8! Started it when L was born and have fallen in love with it. Perfect, mind-numbing TV goodness for those long nights! My favs at the moment are Owen Hunt and Sloan..Who do you like? xx

What a lovely picture of the water! And how wonderful that your kid is enjoying his veggies.

How lovely that you live so close to the sea. So glad you can have those walks. What a healthy, happy little boy little L must be xoxo

I have always loved Hunt and I do like Meredith and I love Bailey . The new series is my favourite one in a while .
Lovely pic

Petal I love Bailey, she's so lovely!

Right, work has me SWAMPED at the moment so a quick update is all I have time for today.

Snacks: glass of red wine, avocado

Total: 1469

Great picture! That water looks so inviting, but I imagine its pretty cold.

Good to see you off to such a great start, down 4 lbs in the first week and doing very well in the second. Good for you!

It was very chilly, Rob! The baby was not amused when I got him to paddle!

Busy week here but stayed on plan. Off for a walk soon with Yank and the baby, chilly here but not raining. On duty next week so will be out and about in people's homes and the office.. No advice about long-term plans yet for my job..the rota for duty has been done until the end of May so imagine we are all working from home until at least then.

Have you eaten your food for the day already or is that what you’re planning?

Great results on the scales so far Hanna. It must be very encouraging.

I stand in awe of your discipline considering all the things you do and are responsible for!

I’m so jealous of your toasted sandwich maker - they really are the best.
