Hi,
I am having a hard time with my body in the state it's sitting in right now or where i guess i hit a bump and gave up on progressing further. After a few months of literally sitting on a couch and doing nothing. I decided to go back to the gym, and these pictures are my first week's progress of lifting weights to strengthen my body from the disastrous crash dieting i had done starting around when i was 14. Basically i started a hard cardio workout combining jogging / aerobics classes and very little nutrition. The results in weight loss were tremendous, I weighed about 253lbs and was much shorter, and now I am 19 years old 6'1 and weigh 176. However I had lost most of the weight in a short amount of time and what i ended up with is losing a lot of muscle mass, as well as fat, and a bunch of skin with some soft fat on it hanging off the sides of my stomach, thighs, and waist when i sit down. When im standing up straight it does not show as much but it is when i sit that it bothers me.
I know i need to get rid of the last few pounds of fat in order for my body to tighten up, but how do i go about doing this. I am on a 6meal/day (40g protein/ 40g carbs per meal) + weight lifting routine + some walking/ light jogging. I know its only been a week but for some reason i am lacking the motivation as i am putting on some muscle, but i dont feel my body (especially around the waist area loose skin) tightening up.after a workout i always feel that i could have done more as i look in the mirror..what do i do?? For years now this has been my question as i am stuck.. been hard to post this up feel ashamed or disgusted but i need the feedback so sorry if this bothers u
after babbling on for so long here are my goals:
1. tone that into (visible) six pack abs!
2. tighten skin.
3. build muscle.
4. i had dropped 77lbs total and gained height but still not happy with the results of all that hard work.. dream to have perfect beach body
workout:
about 1 hour of weight lifting
30 min walks + some walking during the day
(any suggestions on increasing workout/method here would appreciate it)
diet:
fruits / veggies/ lean protein, chicken, egg whites, milk (1-3 scoops of whey protein per day) , carbs (brwn rice/ wheat bread / corn )
no sodas/ junk food anymore
30g carb / 40g protein per meal 5-6 times daily ( should i cut down on carbs to get toned?)
I can be very dedicated and work hard on getting to my goal when I am properly motivated and know that I am doing things the right way not just wasting time
. If it takes 5 mile walks / 2-3 hours of weight lifting each day (unrealistic, but willing to do anything), I'd say bring it on.. but some days i fail to be motivated once again.. thanks i'd appreciate any type of feedback and sorry for making you read so much!
Also i am a smoker and have been for about 2 years (i feel its limiting my cardio)..maybe less than 1 box per day and ultra lights but still when i try to quit, i find my motivation is gone and i can't do it without.. as side effect of nicotine craving is intense. But i read somewhere that nicotine actually prevents the loss of belly fat.
