Hey everyone!
I’ve been looking round this forum for a couple weeks now and I have to say I am impressed with the good spirit and encouragement given to everyone no matter what physical shape they are in. So I thought this would be a great place to share my story and hopefully pick up some advice and motivation along the way. So… here goes!
Im 20 (nearly 21) 6ft5 (long arms and legs) and about 160pounds. Which equals very skinny, and I’d rather not be. Anyway, ive done quite a bit of weights training before, and whilst gaining a lot of strength I haven’t really seen much difference in my physique,( so I guess ive been doing the wrong stuff.lol)
I haven’t been able to do much over the last couple months, but as of next week I will be back at university and able to use the gym there.
I have read around various websites and have come up with a routine that I think should work well for me. Im not an expert on this so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Im planning to go to the gym twice a week (I don’t know if that’s a good amount or not but my course is very demanding and that’s realistically the amount of time I can spend at the gym)
I plan to do 4 sets of 6-8 reps with high weights on the following exercises :
Dips
Narrow grip chin ups
Bench press
Squats
Deadlifts
(Im not sure of the exact weights I will use to start with and I will use the first day to get the weights right)
Each time I go to the gym, I plan on increasing the weight I am lifting by around 5 kilos (depending on exercise) and so hopefully I will force my body to be able to lift more.
And as for the diet, I eat fairly healthily anyway, and I will be aiming to eat a lot more protein in the form of tuna chicken and kidney beans (any other good suggestions?) I will be on a bit of a budget so im not too sure about supplements yet. Also, from now until December I will be on placements in hospitals from 8-4 which makes eating 5/6 meals a day quite hard, is there any advice u can give me bout staggering my meals or good snacks to eat.
Im basically trying to bulk up A LOT, I know im not gonna look like Arnie and I don’t particularly want to, but anything would be better that the current state!
So any help is much appreciated or just some motivation to help me on my way
Anyway, I think ive gone on enough, now its time for the pictures part
Many thanks! Enjoy.
