Help with FAT armpits! Please!!

HI! I go to the gym 4-5 times a week. My routine is mainly some semi-high intensity cardio and a spinning class one day a week. I run a lot and use the eliptical. My problem is the area in between my breasts and underarms...I DONT have a name for it. I have been doing some chest exercises ( flys, pushups, barbell lifts) BUT...NOTHING seems to be working. I know that its going to take time, but im not even getting SORE in that area!! Nothing is helping it. It is REALLY bothering me. I dont even want to wear short sleeves or tank tops. I have nice toned legs. Im 5'6 and weight about 126. I eat healthy for my age (26) and I dont drink caffeinated drinks. Im not fat, but I want that area TONED!! ANY help at all would be appreciated. Thank you.

Haven't you seen the machine that works out your armpits? Does wonders.

Haha, just messin', first off, you cannot spot reduce fat, you can build an area with muscle, but getting your body decides where to first get rid of fat. Keep exercising and adjust your diet to a deficit of calories first and foremost.

The only thing I can think of that is where you are describing is the upper/outer portion of the pectoralis muscle. You may be unfortunate enough to have a genetic fat deposit there, that may be the last vestige of fat your body will burn and will need to get very lean to get rid of it. If it is fat it will never get "sore" from exercise, although the underlying muscle/connective tissue could get sore if properly exercised. As shafted said the only real solution may be a caloric deifict coupled with a good total body exercise routine. You might try supersetting a flying exercise with a pressing exercise to get the maximum effect on the pectoral muscles. That is, start with a set of lying flyes, 12 reps with a weight you can just barely get 12 reps with, followed with no rest by a set of bench presses, again with a weight you can barely get 12 reps with. 2 or 3 set of this with enough rest in between so that you can do almost as many reps as the first set should result in your pectorals being a little sore the next day, probably most felt right in that area where the petoral muscle ties in to the shoulder/arm, or where I think you are referring to.

A photo might help us see exactly what you are talking about.
