Looking for a little advice

Hello to everyone. I have a few questions. I have a pretty good idea of what I am doing, but I always like others veiws.

First I am back into lifting weights on a regular basis now. I am no body builder by no means. I am looking to work all the major muscles groups at least twice a week with gogin to the gym 4 times a week. would i need to go an extra day? I know how I work my chest in twice, but I am currently just fitting in an excersize or 2 for certain body parts on other days, for example doing lat pulldowns on a chest and bi's day. I most def want to work my shoulders, back, and legs twice a week in the gym. I can always do push ups at home to compensate a second day for chest.

Also I am 5'7 285, I used to work out on and off a lot, and play football, so i am not a normal. with a long break in lifting i can bench 315 around 12-15 times, that is to just say I have kept in some type of shape so i am not a fat blob. I wanted to know what a sufficient amount of protien is for me. I keep reading 1 to 2 grams per lb, but i would be taking in around 3 to 400 grams per day and taking in 200 feels like a lot to me. im actually trying to get down to 260 or 250 at the most because at that wait i feel really lite. 270 is a more normal weight for me. so with me working out each major muscle twice a wee. is approx 200 grams of protein a day enough?????

My apologies if the thread seems really long. and if i neglected to leave out any information that would better help with advice please feel free to let me know

I also posted this in a rush. A lot of typos and not everything is explain. My apologies

you seem to care alot about getting some frequency inn, which is good. But it also seems you choose the body part split method. You can easily do a FBW 3 times a week and work your entire body in 45-60min each session. Or do an upper lower split or push pull split for 2 days a week per big muscle group.

I agree you should deffo try a Full Body Workout routine. I'll be honest and say I've not been able to put one together that I really liked and managed to stick to and currently doing a split routine is working better for me than anything and seeing good results.

However I think the FBW is the best to go for IF it works for you, and should usually be the first port of call when starting out :) When I go back to Uni in October I am going to HAVE to revert to a FBW 3x a week really to fit everything into my life, so hopefully I will transition well :)
