when should i use amino acids

hello i am new to this, i just want to know when should i take amino acids? should i take them before or after i workout.
 
There's no reason to take extra amino acids 'specially if you're new to this.
 
isn't that the checmical that builds up to make a muscle sore?? I rarely get sore muscles, only when I change so0mething drastic, or start a new discipline... why would somebody want to take an amino acid?

amono acids are the building blocks of proteins. Some take special amino acids because some are harder to come by than others. Our body can make mosts amino acids by mixing and matching, but some HAS to come from diet.
 
how would somebody know they needed it? lack of results? lack of soreness?

now I have this feeling of curiosity leading me to inquire about things I hadn't even ever thought of...

I am a wholelistic type of athletic guy,.,, I don't even lift weights up until recently,, i have always used body weight and inverted leverage.....

and now I have hijacked this thread,,, sorry. doh bowing out
 
well, i dont know if you can really know you need them. I guess if you know you dont get alot of some of the amino acids your body cant produce on its own, you might need to suppliment with some amino acids.

wel if your new i wouldnt worry about taken them.. only supplement that you would want to use is protein.. but if you think you need amino acids.. i know people take ..

BCAA (Branched Chain Amino Acids) tablets

Maintains muscle tissue
Very anabolic
Essential to growth
 
Flyinfree, there are essential and non-essential amino acids. Essential simply means they are not manufactured in the body and must be obtained through food products. Non-essential are produced in and by the body.

If you're doing a whey protein, there is no need for purchasing extra amino acids.

Like karky said theirs essential and non essential, sometimes youll know your defecient because there will be side effects. Some amino acids are used to build serum albulmin which is essential for water balance, this deficiency would lead to edema, thats why you often see starving people with plump stomachs.

I also hope your all aware that the protein we consume gets broken down to amino acids before it does anything in the body.:)
