Fat-Burning Foods

In your quest to lose weight, there are a variety of foods that are not only healthy and nutritious, but help your body lose weight naturally and increase your body’s rate of fat loss. Incorporating some or all of these foods into your daily diet can speed up weight loss, build a healthier body, and put you on the road to a healthier lifestyle.

*Apples and berries contain pectin. Pectin restricts the amount of fat the cells can absorb and forces the cells to discharge fatty deposits.

*Citrus fruits contain high concentrations of Vitamin C. Vitamin C burns fat by liquefying it. This makes it easier for the body to flush fat from the system.

*Calcium in dairy products like milk, cheese, and yogurt plays an important role in weight loss by accelerating the fat breakdown in fat cells.

*Broccoli and Cabbage both contain very high quantities of calcium and Vitamin C and are full of fiber!

*Eggs are high in protein and essential in burning fat. If you are concerned about cholesterol, you can eat the white part as that is the most nutritious part of the egg.

*Garlic or garlic oil helps reduce fatty deposits in your body’s cells.

*Green Tea boosts metabolism and may aid in weight loss. It also contains anti-cancer properties and help prevent heart disease.

*Hot Peppers can speed up your metabolism. This causes you to burn more calories.

*Lean Turkey fires up the body’s fat-burning abilities by boosting metabolism and building lean muscle tissue that, in turn, burns more calories.

*Oatmeal and Whole Grains are great sources of fat-absorbing fiber that keeps the body full by providing it with energy. They also rev up the metabolism, necessary for burning fat and calories.

*Olive Oil keeps your cholesterol down and burns fat.

*Soup is a terrific appetite suppressant. Burn fat faster by having a bowl of soup as an appetizer or a snack.

*Soybeans contain lecithin, a chemical that protects your cells from accumulating fat. It also breaks down fatty deposits in your body.

Don’t forget the first rule of a good and healthy diet is to drink water, lots of water! Water flushes out the system and eliminates harmful toxins. It enables the body to run more efficiently, speeds up metabolism, and makes it easier to lose weight and burn fat. Your body is made up of 70% water and needs a lot of water each day to perform its necessary functions.

Just a few i thought id pick out, have any scientific journals to support these claims and maybe make more sense of :yelrotflmao:

Olive oil is fat, so does fat help burn fat..
Are you saying the protein helps burn fat?
Vitamin C liquefy? Vitamin C is water soluable which is in contrast to fat, which is actually emulsified by bile salts. By flushing fat in the urine? if this was detected wouldnt this be VERY worrying.

Actually the original poster, although overly simplifying their statements, is correct. It is just all in how you look at it and understanding the small degree that these things make a difference.

Protein builds muscle and muscle burns fat...

This is simply not true.

It is the totality of the nutrients that builds muscle, for example, IF you are deficient in a vitaman that the Thyroid needs or if its not functioning correctly, this WILL inhibit growth, and taking protien until the sun goes down isnt going to help you. Do not get me wrong, protein IS an important element in the equation, but it is simply not the ONLY element that builds muscle.

It is a combination of nutrients, protein, the associated stimulation, in addition to a caloric surplus that builds muscle.

Muscle does NOT burn fat. Building muscle and the amount of muscle on ones frame burns more calories than its counter part, fat. In other words, having more muscle or building more muscle will allow one to burn more calories, as compared to the opposite scenario.

Agree. Having more muscle to maintain makes our body's metabolism run higher, which makes it more efficient in burning up calories. You will burn more CALORIES.

Actually the yolk is far more nutritious. It just also contains the fat.

Don't dairy products have a lot of fat in it? I heard calcium helps people who wants to lose those last 1-2 pounds, but not really good as a complete weight loss pill. Also, calcium absorbs a lot of valuable nutritional stuff (I heard), so having plenty of veggies and fruits would prove important.

I thought the yoke was the most nutritious part of an egg?

I haven't heard of this one yet and I'm a bit skeptical since what in hot peppers cause you to burn more calories?

I have actually read about this in a scientific journal, they say it is true, but its not very effective, its got to do with the increase in body temperature caused by spicy foods. Like eating a pound of chilis might help you burn 10 cal.
