I need help.

I'm not exactly sure if this is the right place for this question, but it looked like the best option. Sorry if it's not, this is my first time here.

I have had side fat for years. I started dancing when I was 7 and stopped when I was in high school. I was fit but still had these "pockets" of fat on my sides. It starts at about the middle of my pelvic bone and stops at my hip joint. It's right where my underwear lines are. Hope I didn't offend anyone with that. I've talked to trainers and have tried so many different exercises and nothing works. I need some suggestions. I've done the leg lifts and it just scrunches the fat together. I do side bends, my back and sides look great now, but I still have this fat. I just need some help.. Please... :)

It probably isn't a case of just doing different exercises, chances are that you are going to have to alter your diet to reduce your BF%, so what is your current diet like

Yes, I would tend to agree with jsb and say you may have to tinker with your diet somewhat. As he mentioned, post a normal day's diet and maybe we can give you some helpful suggestions.

I'm big into fruits and veggies. Chicken or steak for dinner. Potatoes. Sometimes tuna for lunch. I never eat breakfast because I never leave myself enough time for it. Sometimes I'll just grab a banana at work. I can't eat really anything with fat in it because I have high cholesterol.

I know you said you don't have time for breakfast, but you have to make time. All those people who said "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" weren't kidding.

It boosts your metabolism and kick starts your body, allowing your muscles to repair more efficiently and burn fat faster. It provides more energy all day long so you can actually do your workout.

In addition to that, the calories you get from breakfast are easily used through your daily activities, whereas the food you eat later isn't.

Eating breakfast will make you lose weight. Cutting breakfast will make you gain weight.

I would Try to eat 5-6 small meals a day, whole grains, protiens, fresh fruits. What kind of cardio do you do. If trainers are telling you to do all kinds of stomach crunches and stuff, they are just telling you that beacuase that is what you wanna hear. You cannot spot reduce. You must bring down you BF% like JSP said. Try doing cardio 3-5 times a week, and use different type of cardio equipment. (stair climber, treadmill, bike, etc..) Variety makes a big difference when you have stubburn areas to burn fat from. Make sure you are drinking at least 64oz of water a day also. Your metabalism slows way down when you are dehydrated. Don't give up!!

Watching your caloric intake, breaking up your meals as frequently as possible and incorporating different stress (physical) inducing exercises should warrant a positive change in a realistic amount of time (6-10 weeks).

Stubborn fat

Nobody has mentioned cardio. I don't know what you do, but though individual exercises are wonderful for muscles, the only thing that will make you lose fat in particular places is losing fat ALL OVER. This is unfortunate, and a pain in the butt, but it is true. It is also true that many people have their own particular spot that just holds on like crazy. If this is the case, you'll just have to pull through. Cardio along with a weight routine is absolutely necessary.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the info. I don't do as much cardio as I should. Looks like I'll be stepping it up. I run around all day at work chasing dogs and such. Plus I take vigorous walks at home. I don't use a treadmill, guess I'll start.
