Bizarre weight loss

Hey I'm new to these forums and if someone can answer my question I'd really appreciate it. My senior year of high school I weighed 235 pounds at 5'11". Around Christmas break of my freshman year in college I shot down to 180ish, I just started eating healthy and running however I stopped running towards the middle of my diet and was still losing weight. Probably from walking around campus a lot or something, and still eating my strict diet. I'd eat breakfast in the morning, then I'd eat a huge lunch, then just drink a smoothie or something for dinner. Well this spring semester I got really motivated so I'd go do cardio in the morning and weight train at night. My eating consists of a bowl of cereal, a huge lunch (2 chicken breasts, and lots of vegetables, a salad, and sometimes soup) and another bowl of cereal or smoothie for dinner (practically the same as last semester). However I'm not losing weight anymore. I'm really confused because this semester I'm working twice as hard as last semester but I actually went from 175 to 180. My goal is to get to 160 so any tips or advice on what I'm doing wrong would be greatly appreciated thanks a lot.

A lot of the time when you first start training the results come quicker.

However, the weight loss could have been caused by anything - like the stress involved with being at a new school for the first time, etc.

Generally if you lose weight quickly and you are not sure why you should see your doctor because it could be more serious. But, if you have stopped losing weight and feel ok then I imagine you are just back to a more "normal" weight.

Try not weight training as often (go down to 4 times a week) and run or do cardio on the off days.

Sorry I forgot to mention I do cardio for 40 minutes every morning M-Fri. and Weight Train every night M-Th, and rest on Sat. and Sun. Is this not good? and the thing I'm confused on is working out way harder than I did last semester and I'm gaining weight now, which confuses me. Thanks.
