Lean Cuisine/Smart Ones Diet

Has anyone ever tried using Lean Cuisine or Smart Ones Frozen meals as a diet? It kind of makes sense for me to try this. All the nutrional information is present, the portion size is predetermined. Most meals are between 200-300 calories so I can evenly space out 4 or 5 small meals throughout the day. Does this seem too logical to attempt? Am I missing something?

the fact they are highly processed.

the meat isn't high quality...its mostly scraps they glue into meat shapes using gelatin...and then they count gelatin as protein even though its a mostly useless form of protein.
processed carbs in the pasta, and the sauce.

you'd be able to eat a larger volume of food at the same calorie intake if you made the meal yourself from whole ingredients. make them in advance and store in Gladware.

My problem is if I make it from scratch then I don't know how to calculate what I need to know to count calories. I would have to go out and by a scale or something else. Also I don't have the internet at my condo so it would be difficult for me to get immediate information to know if what I'm about to do is good/bad or other.

I've used this with great success in measuring out portion sizes. Also I would shift the focus from counting calories to healthier eating - yes, the premade dinners are more convenient and probably taste pretty good, but the fact remains they're processed foods (as Malkore pointed out). I'd suggest getting a healthy cookbook (one that lists the nutritional info for the recipes therein) and trying a few - you might be surprised with what you come up with.
