Stiff Leg or Regular Dead Lift?

Which is better with my routine...

Squats
Bent over BB row
(Deadlift or stiff leg dead lift?)
Flat BB Bench
Wide Grip Lat Pull Down
Military Press

6 of one half a dozen of the other, it depends on what you want to get from them, In my opinion normal deadlifts are more effective.

why not do 2 days with heavy squats / stifflifts and light deads 1 day then heavy deads and light squats / stifflifts the other and stifflifts both days on a heavy and light system

since you do squats on the same day do stiff legg, just dont LOCKOUT your knees, keep them bendt a bit. squats and normal deads work alot of the same muscles, and most people wont see gains if they do them to frequently and in the same workout since they are both very taxing.

I do stiff legged deadlifts after heavy squats. I found my squats felt a lot easier after starting doing that, I think because my lower back got just the right amount of stimulation to help it support the weight in back squats. I also to abs immediatelty after the stiff legged deadlifts for a similar reason, since abs are very involved in deadlifts as a stabalizer... (I start abs with hanging leg raises, that also helps with the grip which is pre-stressed during deadlifts).

I personally would do stiff leg or romanian deads on squat days.

regular deads work the quads, and need so much lower back, I don't like to do them after squats, ever.

Your routine looks like a fullbody...doing it 3 times a week? if so, I'd squat two days with stiff and/or romanian deads, and then the other day, either don't squat, or keep it light, and do regular deads.

Pardon my ignorance, but can someone please explain romanian dead lists to me? I have no idea what they are!

PS: This is a good topic! Just started my new routine and don't like doing the regular dead lifts and squats in the same routine.

cheers jman!
