which first... cardio or muscle?

should i lift weights first or run on the treadmill... just on any given day?
im thinking i should do the treadmill first, get some fat burned off, then eat a meal with lots of protein and some complex carbs... do my muscle workout, then simple carbs like sugars to help rebuild the muscle with the protein...
any input?
 
I personally seperate my cardio days from my strenght training days. If my schedule forces me to perform them on the same day, then I split them up and try to perform them atleast 8 hours apart. if you must do them in the same time frame on the same day, I recommend that you perform your strenght training first, then perform your cardio.
 
Agreed Falco, I've done cardio first and it really impacts my strength training routine. No matter what your goals are, if you incorporate weight training into your workout, you want all the energy you can to do it. It takes a lot out of you. I do some cardio after my weight training each day, but at less intensity.

I also keep my cardio and strength seperate however If I do cardio on a lifting day, i do HIIT and either way earlier that day or at least two meals after lifting.

Why is it that eveyrone told me that it was CARDIO first then weight training?!? This was a long time ago but i remember it clearly. Grrrr!

Ok LV, saying cardio before or after weight training? If you are saying cardio BEFORE weights, then I gotta hear why that is.
 
Different things work for different people. I like to do my cardio first, whereas it looses me up and does increase my strength with weights. I've tired to switch it up a few times and it just doesn't feel right. But its always good to get your heart rate going and build up a sweat, then go down to the weights.
