Indeed. Deadlifts, front squats, bent-over rows, shoulder presses. All you need a bench for is if you really feel like benching. Or if you feel like doing incline presses.
Perfect cleans take practice. But for just popping weight up for squatting or overheads, it shouldn't be too hard. Moreover, if you can't clean a weight up, you probably shouldn't be putting it over your head.
have you ever tried cleaning Timmy? i know i can front squat more than i clean, could be due to technique and when i get my timing and dip better i could clean asmuch as i front squat, but for the moment i stand no chanse
but he could just clean it and do higher reps on the front squat.
Yeah, i was gonna say, no offense timmy, but cleaning a weight and doing front squats are like apples and oranges. front squats hold the weight on your shoulders...there's really no significant arm or upper back involvment.
I do agree though that you shouldn't hold a weight over your head that you can't get up there in the first place
Malkore, i think what he meant was that he could clean the weight to his shoulders, then start doing front squats. so it would really be like 1x clean 5x front squat, just an example.
