I guess I am fat for ever

Hello,

I have been trying for the past 3-4 years to lose weight. I have tried dieting, jogging etc. etc. but I have never reached 165 after crossing that mark.

My body is always in diet mode.

I eat LITTLE food. As my life style is of a typical night software engineer, I work during nights (till 3AM) and get up at 11 PM. I work for about one hour, work out for 36 mins HIIT on exercise bicycle after 2 light room jogging (and swinging my belly like hell). I then have my lunch and go to office and come back home at 10PM, have dinner and then start working. Well! I am a workacholic.

"My body is always dieting." If I eat a normal load of dinner, I feel like I am overeating while all my friends drink beer and eat ton load of food than I do.

I am 190 5,7. I have lost weight a little (I feel last 10 days) but my family says otherwise. I do not dirnk sodas and am extremely health aware. BUT I CANNOT LIVE THIS MORE. I REALLY NEED TO LOSE MY WEIGHT.

If I have breakfast, I am generally not hungry till night! My work gives me lot of tensions and this is something I cannot avoid.

Please help me!

Hi Fancy Name! The problem could be your diet. I don't think you're eating enough. You should be eating AT LEAST 5-7 meals per day. Small meals of course, each one containing one good carb and one protein. Drink plenty of water. I know that's easier said than done. Also try to slowly incorporate weights in your workout rather than just cardio.

You may want to start by finding out how many calories you need to consume to maintain your current weight and then cut from that total. Divide the total by 5-7 meals (depending on how many you eat) and go from there-that will tell you how many calories you should be eating per meal.

I'm not an expert so you may want to wait for someone to tell you how to do this. Good luck! :)

I found this link from trainer Lynn. Plug in your information and it will give you an idea of what you should taken in (calories) to maintain, then subtract 500 calories for weight loss.

I think that's how it works, someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I certainly don't want to give incorrect info.

Try eating less pre packaged foods, more whole foods. A meal can be cottage cheese and a piece of fruit. Or a tuna sandwich with lettuce and tomato. Or a chicken breast with side of brocolli.

They don't have to be huge meals, plus eating that many time per day will make you feel full through out. Try eating every 2-3 hours :)

lets check what your doing wrong

you say all of your friends eat so much and stay so thing and are never on a diet. well, if they're not on a diet then they are probably not thinking about what they eat all of the time, thus not thinking about food all of the time and so they don't eat so much. also, a lot of the so called diet foods have just as many, if not more, calories as in the normal food, making people feel virtuous becase they are eating low fat cookie's. but the front of the box forgets to also put the amount of calories. the back of the box is what you should look at. so you should feel better eating 1 small chocolate than a whole box of low fat double dipped chocolate cookies.

and one last thing...i understand you are probab;y really busy and think you don't have time to excersize. this is not true. if people want to excersize, they will make the time to. if you really wanted to loose weight, you would wake up 20 minutes earlier, or take 20 minutes out of your lunch break to commit to somthing that is really important to you. i think running in the morning is the best thinng you can do. you feel better all day. you want to make better choices about food and you also think better (yes, it's be proven)

so take some time to set your priorities and really figure out what you want.

tell me what your eating shcedule is and maybe i can help

runnergirl2;)

Very true. I worry about food a lot in terms of dieting. I really stay FAR away from cookies etc. I cannot have them in our dream too.

As I recall, I was fine before and just that when people around me started dieting, I started to think similar way and so, I did. But this habit has become an obsession.

How can I eat breakfast, eat every 3-4 hours and feel not guilty when I am eating twice and still FATTT?

Please help!

Because, your body goes into starvation mode if you don't eat. It stores the fat rather than get rid of it. It thinks it's not going to get food so your metabolism slows down.

Trust me, what you need to to if you want to lose weight is eat that many times per day, but remember I don't mean 5-7 combo meals at a fast food restaurant. I gave you an example of what a 'meal' is for me. Here is today for me so far:

B-one egg, 2 egg whites once slice of whole wheat bread
S-cottage cheese/one pear
L-chicken sandwich with lettuce tomato and onions 1/2 cucumber with lemon juice (just for taste)
S-4 egg whites one slice of whole wheat bread 1 nectarine
D-I'll probably have either chicken or tuna one veggie

That's five small meals...

And believe it or not some people may even tell me that's not enoug! That ends up being only around 1500-1600 calories. I've been trying to shoot for closer to 2000...because my goal right now is to gain muscle...I'm a working process as well :)

Sounds as though you just need to reset your metaboilsm.

Eating 6-8 small good meals of foods in as close their natural state as possible will help you do that.
For a really good easy lean snack, try rolling a protein ( fish /meat/ cheese/ chicken / etc..or combinations of several) in a nice bifg fresh lettuce leaf with grated carrot and either peas and corn or celery or other veg or salads ..you can even throw in pineapple and apple and a few other fruits. A couple of those is all you need to keep your body turning over and speed everything up.

try to keep hydrated through the day as well. Alternate fluids between, lowfat milks ( and flavoured is okay if your not overloading flour and grains to keep loosing), and water and different juices and even tea and other hot fluids, ( minus the refined sugar, if you can go without it or use an alternative) and if you have to eat fat, try to minimise the times when you do it with flour and grains. Keeping them seperate will help.

I once helped a man loose 50 kgs in 6 mths! It's never too late , so much as hanging in their until you can figure out something that works for you. Don't give up though, and remember , unless you aare eating regularly, as someone said before, your body will still think it's starving and hold onto what it can.

P.s egg whites, lean meats and no fat cheesees , and even single serve fruit and veg hits are all quick small and will do the job. grab a plum and a drink of milk..or cheese and crackers and juice .. have fun working out differnt ways to make your meals small ( except your main meals at a slightly bigger portion )and trying to get 6-8 in each day.
