Need Some Encouragement

Hello. My name is Kendra. I am 22 and I had a baby 9 months ago. I lost most of the baby weight by dieting alone, but stopped a few months ago. I am at 130 pounds and would like to get down to 115. I need some guidance though. My husband is very supportive, but worries a lot because he doesn't want me to turn too skinny...he's so sweet. But, I don't know what I should be doing. I work out everyday, but I don't know what burns the fat off. Also when it comes to eating...do I eat less, more? It's confusing. I have cut out sweets, but I LOVE CARBS...bread, pasta..all of it. Where do I go from here? THank you guys.

Eating a lot is good because it keeps the metabolism running. But what you could do for losing fat (the most effective way IMO) is to run, it don't have to be fast find a comfortable pace and keep at it and progress. after you are done walk 10 minutes (never just stop from after running, can cause injury), stretch and take a cold shower (cold shower helps against microtrauma to your muscles which is caused by running). Good luck and dont give up!

Hey Kmason! Congratulations on the baby! Here's what I've learned from the people here. You SHOULD eat 5-7 times per day but smaller meals consisting of one good carb (wheat bread/fruits/veggies) and one protein source (egg whites/chicken/tuna)...here are some of the things I eat:

Chicken
Tuna
Egg whites
Natural Peanut Butter
Fruits
Veggies
Cottage cheese
Whole wheat bread

Also drink lots of water (like 2-3 liters per day). To burn off the fat you should try a combination of cardio and weight lifting. I'm not sure what exactly you are doing so I'm not sure what to recomment for your level.

I have made incredible progress since I joined the forum. Good luck!
:)

Thank you

Thank you so much for your help. Right now I do the elliptical, aerobics, or treadmill for 45 min 5 days a week and doing a little weight training 2-3 days a week. I eat a lot of turkey sandwiches...is that ok?? I also eat a lot of fruits. Thank you all so much.

Turkey is great. it is a fantastic source of protein. Unfortunately DELI MEATS are sh*t. Unless you are eating fresh turkey I wouldnt rely on cold cuts as a source of protein. They just have too much other crap added and are often ground and gelatinized.

no joke. That really sucks though cuz it's so much easier than getting fresh turkey. Maybe i'll start eating tuna salad more.
