Lost over 60 pounds but now flabby.. Plz help

My friend recently flipped out on me telling me that well I have lost 64 pounds I now look worse then before. He says I have flabby arms like an old school teacher whose erasing the chalkboard. Also that i'm like fat bastard with all the extra skin I have and that I went about it wrong losing my weight.

He says I look worse now then I did before the weight loss because I filled out my skin better? heres a link to some before and after photos of me.

How I lost all my weight from january to now is by doing lots of cardio and eating healthy. I cut out soda white bread junk food and fast food and switched to healthier food and drink plenty of water. My friend also says that I'm drinking way to much water which will flush out my nutrients so I can't build much muscle is that true? For strength training equipment I have bowflex dumbells and bench but I'll admit I use them maybe once a week or so just for maybe 30 minutes or so.

When I do strength training my routine consist of this. Remember all of this is with dumbells and 3 sets each of 10.
Standing Concentration Curls
Chest Presses
Standing shoulder presses
I dunno what its called but u hold the dumbell behind ur head with both hands and go behind the head lifting the dumbell over you head. This is for triceps.
Crunches
Squats on occation

thats pretty much it. Can someone recommend a quick routine that I can stick too and get results. I get so bored cause I have to weight 1 min 30 seconds between sets and I have no patience for that and thats why I decide not to even start doing strength training.

Since I started this weight loss i've become really self conscience about my looks. My self esteem is pretty low and my friend really pointed out my faults and he is right. i'm poking at my tricep fat as we speak. Sometimes I want to just give up cause the journey is so hard and sometimes I feel no one believes in me but myself.

My original plan was to get down to 180 to get rid of flab and then start lifting big and having protein shakes and all that good stuff. But i've been at 199 for about 3 weeks now and maybe I should start a new routine. I'm not sure all I know is I can't live with myself how I look now so someone plz help me.

Sorry for the long post.

Okay if your freind said that about you that means he doesnt really care about you and is not as good of a freind that you think. First off dont get all depressed and get your hopes down. Use those words that your freind told you as your motivation. I remember when i was striaght out fat and my own family would bomb on me with fat jokes. I got mad, angry, and it gave me more motivation to work harder to prove them wrong. Now im the healthiest in my family and they want advice from me.

Since you claim your skin is "saggy" i suggest you start weight training. Spend some money on more weights and equiptment and start working out hard. That will surley get rid of your lose skin. After your skin is tight again you should start cutting weight agian. The reason your body is not losing more weight is becuase it already adjusted to your normal diet and workout routine. You need to switch it up. Start lifting hard.
Also dont overtrian.... Most people who start lifting begin to overtrian and get frustrated becuase they dont see any gains. Just start out slow and try to do 3x10. Once you feel you cannot handle anymore just stop. Your body should tell you when its tired. Give it the rest it needs and lift hard agian.
Most important key is to not give up. Who cares if people make fun of you. Its not their body so tell them to stfu and to **** off. Just keep your motivation high and remember your doing it for yourself. At the end you will be happy. Good luck! :)

First off, good job on losing that fat. If you have the dedication to do that, I'm surprised lifting weights is such an effort for you to get started on. I don't think you look worse from your pictures. Your friend doesn't seem to provide much support.

That said: get yourself on a consistent routine. For you, I'd say full-body, 3x a week, focusing upon compound lifts:

bench press, squats, deadlifts, pull ups, rows...

As for loose skin...do the best you can for now. Some of it should go away. If it becomes a problem in the future, I don't know what to tell ya besides surgery. From the looks of it, you don't seem to have it that bad from your pictures. But I can't really see all that much anyway.

Good luck.

Dude you look awesome. Just keep working on shedding off the fat. Your skin is a living organ, which means it will adapt to your body. I don't know how quickly it shrinks or whatnot. If anything(since I don't really see any loose skin) you could always bulk up muscles to make up for the fat being gone. You're just gonna have to get into a lifting routine. If you're impatient, you'll have to have the willpower to get rid of it.

tell ur friend to eff off :) and just keep the diet clean , throw some weight training there 3 times a week with cardio 2 times a week, and u should be gOood in no time! plus u dont look bad at all! nice work loosing the weight, good luck!

I read this and almost laughed out loud at work. Thats just the silliest thing ever.

your friends are @$$holes. most likely its just jealousy speaking.

Thanks for the advice and support guys. I'm going to start more strength training. Keep suggesting regiments. As of right now it looks like full body routine is the best thing for me to do?

Also, would it be benificial for 1 out of the 3 routines to not do 3 sets of 10 but just do 1 set of whatever I can do until I max out?

Dude, you look great. Not only did you lose weight but it looks like your taste in ball teams improved too! ;)

I agree with the other posters, your friend is an IDIOT. Friends help each other not hold them back. Perhaps he means well but is just not very articulate. Who cares because when you're picking him up above your head the last thing on his mind will be how "flabby" your arms look.

Keep it up and persist. I just started a training routine. I'm not as strict as other people (I just love certain types of foods) but that doesn't bother me because I am still seeing positive gains. I know I could see more gains if I cleaned up my diet some more, ate more / smaller meals throughout the day, etc. but that can come later. I don't want to try and change everything at once becuause I will fail. I don't want to fail and that's what keeps me making the small changes one at a time. My first routine didn't have squats or deadlifts and now I have both in there. Boy! what a difference it makes. The way I feel after doing a few sets of (dumbell) squats is great. Same goes for the DLs. I _really_ feel like I've worked out when I hit those exercises hard.

3 sets of 6-10 reps. Toma you're not a noob to the site, I know you know where to look for routine suggestions!
