Becoming a personal trainer

hi All

Completely new to all this so bear with me!

I am looking into having a complete career change and love the idea of becoming a personal trainer but have no idea where to start looking. Is anybody out there to give me a few pointers on :

Courses
negative points in doing this
positive points..

I am 30 and the thought of going to Uni isn't really an option. I was thinking of some intensive courses if there any such things. I live in Belgium but moving to a new country for a while doesn't bother me.

Many thanks in advance!!

Chrissy

If you live in New Zealand you can go to massey and do a certificate in personal training but honestly a certificate isnt going to get you that far. The next step would be a diploma which takes a year which gives you more career options and then there is what im doing which is a 3 year degree in sports science from which you can go to exercise physiology and all sorts.

I dont know why I bothered actually you wont even be near New Zealand :D

Chrissy,
I also started a thread in the Personal Trainer sectiojn under men's fitness here, which has some feedback on it too.

Chrissy - check out this resource

Hard Earned Personal Trainer Secrets

it basically cuts through all the B.S. of being a gym trainer and how to save yourself alot of wasted time.

Hope it helps!
