Hello! Noob seeking advice

Hi! My name is Justin, Im 24, 5'9", 160lbs. I'm looking for a routine workout that incorporates the equipment I own to lose about 10-15lbs and get a fully toned body. I own a Bowflex Xtreme2 and a Pro-Form XP550 treadmill. I've already started eating healthier (1300 calories a day), and workout 3 times a week, but I still have'nt seen any results! Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! btw great forum!

Your undereating! 1300 calories a day isnt good for anybody, let alone someone who plans on some serious activity. What do you do for workout? Please dont say bench press, curls, and crunches either...

BTW, welcome.

My workout consists of 20 min. of bowflex (full body workout) and 30min on treadmill (walking- light jogging) ,5x a week. I also just started the diet, and I'm not sure if what im doing is right or wrong. I really dont know that much about fitness and nutrition. Please help!

Eat! you neem to be getting some healthy carbs and proteins in and increase that calorie count =) Search around the forum on tips of what to eat and when. You'll do great!...man, I should take my own advice...lol

I thought I would also mention my daily meals. Does this sound like a good nutrition plan? Breakfast: 1 plain bagel with light cream cheese (280cal.) Lunch: Sandwich, 2 slices whole wheat bread, light mayo, light cheese, 5 thin slices of turkey, and a fruit cup (350cal.) Snack: bannana, or other fruit (100cal.) Dinner: Lean Cuisine Entree (300cal.), and I usually drink about 3-4 bottles of Gatorade Propel fitness water (80cal.) Total in a day:1100-1200 calories a day. Is this ok for my goals? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Nope that calorie count is too low for a 10 yr old. Breakfast needs some protein, try some egg whites and milk with that bagel. Ditch the lean cuisine for some cooked chicken breast or ground turkey or turkey burgers. I would lay off the Gatorade since it has an above average amount of sugar. Try to drink at least 80 oz of water also. Your snacks should also be a higher protein count, try eating some almonds, tunafish sandwiches, or something similar. Make sure to eat some good veggies as well, green beans or kidney are good. Cant beat the nutritional value of broccoli or spinach either.

Thanks for all the good info Tony! Yeah, I tried the measly 1300 calorie plan (a plan listed in my Bowflex Body Plan book) ,and I could tell I wasnt at my full energy potential, and I was getting hungry between meals. Why do you think Nautillus would recommend this plan if it doesnt meet the nutritional needs of the body:confused:
