My success story

Today I walk into the gym and see about 90% girls--when I'm only use to seeing about 2%. My original idea for squats today was to do the 20 rep thing (first time)--but with all these girls- I had to go heavy. I put on five more pounds than what I did last week and thought to myself--too friggin easy! So I put on ten more pounds. 15 pounds in a week is not bad for me.

It was like the weight lifting god had dropped a plate on my head and said: forget about getting your ultra defined 6 pack anymore--so just keep clean bulking; and going heavy!!:D

So if your ever feelin down or lost inspiration or motivation--just read this haha

I have a similar experience today but no grils unfortunately. LOL
Right before working out this morning I got mad because of some personal circumstances. When I began working out had a little chip on my shoulder so I ripped my workout (back, shoulders, biceps). I totally fried my upper body and it feels great, a little exhausted but great!
Anger a great motivator!
 
about the squats... i dont have a power rack so i have a lot of trouble trying to get my barbell on my shoulders. So instead, i step infront of the barbell and grab it inback of my legs with my hands locked. I do squats like that. Today is my first day of doing squats weighted. I am only at 75lbs and i did two total sets: 1 set 14 reps; 1 set 15 reps. That was about an hour ago. I feel more sore in my knees...any tips on how to get better at squats fast???
 
Motivation seems to help. You could also do front squats- but I think those hurt your knees more. You could also push press the weight over your head and put it on your traps (only problem with that is that you would have to push it back over your head or drop it behind you (not safe))
 
if feeling in knees your forms not good...you want a 90 degree angle at the elbow or as close as you can...don't drop bum straight down, drop down and back as though you're about to hang a crap...if you can't without falling forwards / backwards there are some weaknesses...i wood have someone evaluate you first as you don't wanna get stuck under a wt on your shoulders
 
hmm i am doing jefferson squats so i dont have it on my shoulders...
it seems like if i try to make a ninety degree angle, i wil most definently tip over(i just tried it now).
