Here's my weigh ins for the past few months since starting to get in shape.

2/4 Sat 232.5 (Day 1)
2/11 Sat 223.5
2/19 Sat 226.8 (beginning to slip)
2/24 Fri 223.7 (tryin' to get it together)
3/4 Sat 223.1 (holding on)
3/9 Thurs 222.1 (after this weigh in I gave up for a few weeks)
3/22 Wed 225.6 (joined overeaters anonymous, now things start to roll!)
3/24 Fri 221.9
3/28 Tues 219.0
4/4 Tues 216.9
4/11 Tues 215.4
4/15 Sat 213.1
4/20 Thurs 212.5
4/24 Mon 211.0
5/1 Mon 210.8

5/27 Sat 202.2 (30 pounds lost)

It's been a bit of a wacky journey so far but now I'm weighing in every Saturday morning. My goal is to weigh 175 by August 5th which is 10 weeks from today.

I started this thread to publicly mark my progress.

Does anyone else want to join in?

I'll post before and after pics on August 4th. I'm using this thread to keep me focused, my mind has been growing tired of the eating right and training hard so I need something fresh. So here it is. Feel free to post your weigh ins.

Hi James! CONGRATS on your current weight loss! I am kind of stuck at the moment. I have motivation to workout, but I don't see results. :( Perhaps if I weigh in I will have better luck. Right now, I am about 130 - or so I was a few days ago. :( I want to drop 20 pounds. Tone up. Look better. FEEL better. As I sit here, I see my belly pudge out. ICK!!!! I see rolls where there should be toned muscle. Trying to increase my milk intake, as I have heard that helps trim the stomach. Also, I gave up soda and chocolate. We'll see how taht goes. By the end of june, I wantt o be at least 8 pounds thinner. (Family coming up from NC)

Anyway, my 5/27 weight - 130

Hang in there. Losing weight is hard. Try doing 30 minutes of cardio first thing in the morning before you eat. That is a fat burning party!!! I'll weigh in this weekend and we can help each other.

Just got back from the gym. On a split workout these days, kickbox in the morning and treadmill and minimal weights at night.

That's when I have been doing it! LOL Although I went from doing 5 days of cardio to 3 days, adding in the tape 2 days per week. I always heard you shouldn't do cardio and weights/strength training on the same days, hense the going from 5 to 3 days per week on the cardio. Should I go back up to 5 days of cardio? And then when do I do "weights"?? Gosh, I'm so confused! :confused:
 
Cardio and weights together is the s**t!!!!!!!! Do it.

Do a good weight training session (burn all the glycogen off) and then do 30 minutes of cardio and you will shrivle up for sure. It may take a few weeks to be able to get a decent cardio session in after weight training but just keep at it.

The other thing that I would consider is some sort of boxing/kickboxing/TaBoe routine. I kickbox and wrestle 5 mornings a week with a world class kickboxing instructor. What an amazing workout! The key is to break it up. I kickbox, treadmill, do weights, run stairs, jump rope etc... Keep the body guessing.
 
I was going to wait on pics till the end of summer but I'll get some pics up on Sunday. I have an old pic of me at about 220 lbs surrounded by pizza at a party.:( Funny stuff.

GREAT JOB for you, though!!! I will perhaps weigh in tomorrow instead and see what I see....

It's been so inspiring watching you lose and I'm so thrilled for you. Thanks for this afternoon. James, you rock! As you can see I'm serious. It's Saturday night and I dreaded getting on the scale but I did the weigh in. :eek:

Oh well, next Saturday I'll be lighter!

I bit the bullet and weighed in. 131. I so badly wanted to be under 130. Maybe next week....

You lost 4 lbs in under a week. That's great!!! Vicki's a friend of mine in LA so we're, as you would say, keepin' it real on the west coast. Keep it up.
 
Thanks! I hope to keep seeing that scale get a lower number as the weeks progress. Just once would I like to look in the mirror and not have to suck in like crazy to be happy with my appearance. LOL
