First of all--holy moly, that's a lot of sugary flavor. Cholesterol myth? There is cholesterol in egg yolks, as is there in any animal meat. It's biological. What's important is not eating a ton of it. A couple egg yolks in the morning? Probably not bad, as long as you aren't eating tons of red meat and bacon all day long. A lot of high cholesterol is based on genetics as well.
As for breakfast ideas, I like hemp bread with jam (high protein, very low calories and lots of fiber)--it doesn't taste great by itself, but with some all-fruit jam, it's pretty darn good. I'll also have 3/4 cup of homemade-ish yogurt (buy from health food store with active cultures--it's a little higher fat, but tastes incredible) and a cup of strawberries or a couple kiwis.
While I'm a big fan of eggs in the morning (I don't choose to eat the yolks because they up the fat content considerably as well as add additional calories I don't need, though every once in awhile I'll have a soft-set one with whole-grain toast), you can really eat anything. Sometimes I'll even have sushi for breakfast or miso soup. There is no rule that you can't have a sandwich!
Otherwise, there are more stand-bys--some people mix egg whites with oatmeal in a blender, then cook as you would a pancake. Top with sugar-free or all-fruit syrup, and you're golden. I also like breakfast burritos--
1/4 cup canned organic black beans, rinsed
2 Tb. fresh salsa (I like the stuff in the refrigerated section)
1 Tb. fat-free sour cream (or lean, if you prefer a little more flavor)
2 egg whites, scrambled with a couple tablespoons milk (mix together in a little bowl before cooking)
2 Tb. fat-free or reduced fat cheddar cheese (fat-free here actually tastes fine)
Roll up in an Ezekial 4:9 tortilla, whole wheat tortilla, or low-fat tortilla. I think it's approximately 400 calories or so, which is good for your first meal of the day.
And, in a pinch, I think a good protein shake is good:
1 cup mixed fruit (I prefer berries or mango), fresh or frozen
1/2 cup fruit juice (OJ works fine, as does apple)
1/2 cup buttermilk or soy milk (I prefer vanilla soy milk, fat-free)
1 large scoop protein powder
1 large scoop L-glutamine powder
Add fruit or soy milk to get the right consistency. Invest in a blender. It tastes about 60X better than the packaged shakes.
