Do I have to work out at the same time every day?

No, i don't think it makes such a huge difference... Only thing i've heard is, if you want to lose weight its more effective if you work out in the morning because then the body will use its fat for the energy because you haven't eaten anything...

And don't work out every day

I don't think it matters what time you work out. As obs said, some peeps do cardio before breakfast. Being in a "fasted" state they believe they are using strcitly fat to burn energy for their activity. Workout (if possible) at the time of day when you feel strongest or have the most evergy. But personally, I don't think it has to be the same time everyday. Maybe it does have some advantages. I'm sure others will share their expertise.

You mean don't work out hte same muscle groups every day, right?

yes and it is still better to take at least 2 days off a week. Your body will not respond well if you jump in to a 6 or 7 day week of working out. Remember your muscles don't grow in the gym......I am one of the people who do my cardio in the morning before breakfast i think it really helps get right to the fat and i hate doing cardio so i just like to get it over with............

You guys are awesome! Thanks for answering my question. Best to get my info from the pros! I heard that working cardio on an empty stomach means theres no insulin in your blood. Something like that. Thanks again. I was worried I'd do it wrong.

3 days right here.
Im in the gym for no more than 1 hour and 15 mins. That is 3 hours and 45 mins in the gym each week :)
Currently doing cardio on alternate days in the mornings (empty stomach, ECA stack..)

The time you work out is preference thing i guess. When it comes to cardio, it just makes sense to do it in the morning when you have fasted already.

The advantage of doing the same times is for one, consistency. You'll be much more like to stick to working out if you reserve that time block in your schedule for only working out, and nothing else. The other thing is, when you work a muscle group, you want to give it a full 48 hours to rest, so when you stick to the same time, you're right on time when doing your workouts.

ive heard you can do cardio before breakfast, but its not good to do weight lifting before breakfast, is that right?

I would agree. When lifting you need something in your system, but also, your body isn't completely awake right away when you wake up. It isn't ready to do heavy lifting right away.

the idea of morning cardio is to burn fat so no cals is ideal. When you lift, you are trying to stimulate growth by exerting your muscles, you want energy when you do this. Working out about an hour after eating works well for me and many people I know.
Wait much longer and you will could be really hungry during your workout (SUCKS).. wait much less than that and you might get cramps (SUCKS).
