Midway pics from Hollywood!

Hey everyone, so here are some before shots and midway shots from this morning. Also, some shots from years back. This is very humbling, I'll leave it at that. Down 33lbs, 35 more to go...

Good progress .... keep plugging !!

Thanks moonbeam.

I just got in from the gym, I had one of the best workouts today. 30 minute warmup (jump rope, crunches, pushups, Jiu Jitsu, kicks) and then 20 straight minutes of western boxing sparring. Last 2 rounds non stop hooks to the body, 6 minutes. Insane! My trainer does no offense and just let's me pound his mid section till I drop. My shoulder were ready to burst into flames. Then I jumped on the treadmill for 20 minutes.

Thanks

very impressive weight loss.

2 questions if you don't mind:
1) do you feel like you're stronger and more energetic?
2) do you feel as if u gained more muscle mass?

I'm way stronger and have put on muscle for sure. I use to manage a health club and was a trainer for years, so I've been very muscley in the past. So my body gains muscle easily but for my profession I don't want to get too big. I'm looking for more the leaner slimmer cut thing. Ala Brad Pitt. That's why I'm going for more the boxing/jiu jitsu/stair running/rope jumping vibe as apposed to a lifting oriented workout. Though I dig the buff look too, it just isn't what I'm going for.

I've spoke with the trainer that trained Brad for some of his movies and he told me he uses sword fighting and boxing as the main training, he says it chops up the midsection like nothing else. The concept being hands above the heart and breaking the mid plain as they cross the body. Then exhaling and locking the core on impact. The thing I love about fighting is you're always in flux. There's nothing static about kickboxing.

You look like you got the killer body. How'd you do it?

lots of hard work...

haha just kidding i'll be more descriptive.

diet is the most important thing. meals must be small and frequent. and they all must be high protein (unless maybe its the morning). load them up with the "healthy carbs" as well. Your pics and weight chart have shown that this is the way to go.

in terms of weight, heavy lifting builds a solid foundation in terms of muscle growth. from what ive seen, doing the 4-6 range with many sets builds gets the most results. But to get an even more growth, you switch it up with the 8-15 rep range. So three weeks of one rep range, three of the other.

My current routine has been an 8 day routine.
day 1: pecs, light tri
day 2: legs
day 3: back, light bi
day 4: shoulders
day 5: nothing
day 6: tri / bi
day 7: legs
day 8: nothing

sometimes i cheat by not doing a leg day when im supposed to, and sometimes i move the shoulders to day 5.

Any more questions, feel free to ask.

Random question for you. How many hours of cardio do you get a week?

Keep up the good work!

And on an off-topic note, I think I saw you in a commercial today with some singing girl who sounded horrible. (No offense)

Here are some pics from tonight:

Tomorrow morning we start filming the show. 11am at the stairs in Santa Monica. Boot camp style training and stair climbing. Nearly 40lbs in the hole! These are the clothes I'm wearing tomorrow.

pics from 40lbs ago:

Thanks afk. It's been a long strange trip. I lost and regained 50lbs last year and spent 3 months in so much mental pain over it all I did was eat and watch TV. Then about 4 months ago I started digging myself out of the toilet. This time I'm committed to a new way of life.
